Sherri and her staff

Thanks for Posting! I noticed you only have 6 post but have been here since 2010, Hopefully you will come around more often.

As I always bring out, it's been said that Sherri recruits the person and not the player, I'm sure she really wants to make sure a girl is a good fit for OU or not.
This may be true since we have heard it often enough. I must admit that there have been times that I was rather glad that we didn't get a player.

Badger, what kind of changes do you think need to be made? Thanks

1. Recruiting. I used to joke that our recruiting seemed to focus on how many threes you could make and you weren't really a Sooner if you couldn't shoot a three repeatedly... sadly, other than Tall Nicole and Kay Kay, that seems to be the case right now. We need to recruit to more than just shooters.

2. Depth. A few more times than recent seasons I skipped cringing through the game and just checked the box score, and was sad that I didn't see more names under "Oklahoma." Why aren't more of our players getting minutes throughout the season? It wasn't just a case of our top competition seeing mostly our starting five, but other games as well. It was especially bad this year when we had three seniors starting most games (and getting the most of the minutes). That's nice this year, but doesn't help us in the future.

3. Toughness. Part of this will be solved through more diverse recruiting and focusing on depth issues, but I worry about how many injuries we've seen with key players in recent years. It might just be case by case, or it might be a trend. In any event, If Maddie Manning has to give up yet another season due to injury, I will provide two shoulders to cry on.

I don't really care so much of a staff overhaul, because maybe our staff can deliver the needed changes, maybe they can't. I'm not in practice, who am I to say what's going right and not behind the scenes. All I see is what happens on the court, and these glaring issues get magnified during a season with this many losses.

I always thought religion was a bond of the team when Whitney was here. I don't know if thats the case now.

I'm not sure why this should matter. Players bond for lots of reasons. Maybe religion helped…but maybe someone pushing it on someone else hurt?

Thanks Mac. I still try to post forget password more then 3 time.I think bulk of OU fans on this board are very in the know. They are very passionate and honest. I will continue to update you guys when I hear something. Brooke Alexander team PCA won state and she was name to All State and All State tournament team.

Thanks, Badger. You are absolutely right on all aspects.

After last nite, I am more convinced that we must rely less on the three going forward. Our program's reputation is gonna take a hit if we don't make the postseason, or make a strong showing in wnit if that is our destination.

A lot of programs don't get the national tv time that ours does (thanks fox sports tv deal!) so I think there will be pressure to make offseason changes this year, rather than patiently waiting for our staff to right the ship. Does fsn want to continue showing an unranked, no postseason team? Will fans tune in for a sweet 16 or final 4 program like they would a wnit program?

I personally am patient and think the staff has earned an off year, but I suspect that college sports at major conferences are not as patient.

One more post like this, and you'll be on Ignore. Nonsensical flames contribute nothing.

What a clown. Like anyone should change their opinion based on some no name boob threatening ignore. Go back to the band and leave the rest of us to discuss basketball.

Nice post Badger, I for one, Hell Yeah, I will support the kids if they get a WNIT instead of a NCAA. Regardless how disappointed I am in the season, these kids are still Sooners and I want them to succeed, and for me it extends the season just a little longer. I love women's basketball and will be there to cheer them on, regardless of my personal feelings.
