Smart/Smart/Smart - not im

I'd bet he has a game that changes some of your minds in stillwater. He does so many things well, to dog him for his shooting is just laughable.

Sour grapes much? Didn't we win that game? Competitiveness is fine, but don't bash the kid.

lol at anyone who is "not impressed" by Smart. Kid is a stud, will finish top 5 in the conference POY race.

OU did a good job on him and he was saddled with foul trouble.

I'm laughing with you.

I couldn't care less if OSU never wins another game, in any sport. But I'm not so blinded by my crimson colored glasses that I can't see real talent when it's as plain as the nose on my face. Smart is one heck of a player, especially for a freshman. Wish he had come to OU so I could enjoy watching him play a lot more.

Many on this board are VERY funny. Didn't bash the kid I am just pointing out how many Sooners on this board were calling him a Great player. He is a Great PROSPECT and right now an average player. Carl, I looked at all his stats and haven't seen anything special (by the way, I watched most of their game yesterday and EVEN THE ANNOUNCERS were saying how he has a long way to go to rise to the top - I'll take the word of someone like that rather than someone with a computer and keyboard). Like I said before, Wayman Tisdale was a GREAT player, his bad days were 9/12/13 points about as many rebounds and all this against TRIPLE teams - averaged around 26 per game all three years. I just get tired of people, mostly younger people, using the Great word too freely.

ANyhoo, he has alot of talent, BUT I have seen thousands of guys over the years with tons of talent that never put it together on the floor. Call me from Missouri, SHOW ME SMART.

Matt, sour grapes doesn't make any sense, HUH??? Just making a point and a good one I might add.

Carl, he may have a good game in Stoolwater in front of 5,000 fans (like the article in the Tulsa World talked about attendance worries from Holder AND Ford), BUT to be "labeled" great demands doing it all the time NOT just 1 out of 3 games. Not many "great" players left in college by the way, mostly young and average IMO.

Come on you all that are hammering that he is something special, if you are special it shows up on the stat sheet - bring your proof or don't come at all.

The proof is in the averages. Leads the big 12 in steals. Not saying hes great, but in terms of being a freshman he is in a class of only a handful.

Sour grapes, little man syndome.. however you would like to interpret it & yes it is just your opinion so I'll take it at face value. You're welcome to do the same.

1 out of 3 games? That tells me you haven't done your research. As a FRESHMAN he reaches double digit 3 out of 4 games. He averages 3 steals per game, rebounds exceptionally well for a guard and dishes it out better than any point guard we have despite him not being a true point.

I apologize that the media has you fuming as they don't use the word "great" in the same context as you do, but to not be impressed with Smart as a player is just blatant ignorance.

I would also argue that he IS great. Great players show up in big games. Against the three best teams on osu's schedule Smart had averages of 22 points, 3 steals, 1 block, 5 assists, 5 boards all while shooting about 55% from the field. Small sample size? Sure. But put Smart on OU's squad and it would be REALLY interesting to see if your consistent with your line of thinking.
