That tells me that TJ Taylor is not the starting point guard next year in the Coach's opinion. That begs the question: who are we even recruiting at the point that is left? I can only think of two names, Watkins and Lloyd. Anybody got anything else?

We could see TJ play there by default. It's pretty late in recruiting to get a really good PG.

Why stop there?

We don't have a proven scorer.

We don't have anyone over 6-7, and we don't have an effective rebounder

We don't have a center.

We have one player (Cade) who has shown he can play defense.

We don't have a consistent three-point shooter (Cade and Pledger are streaky at best).

We can't even recruit an ex-player's brother.

We have two fairly high-profile recruits coming in - but last year we had four high-profile recruits, and we know how that turned out.

As it stands, we will be starting three two-guards, one small forward, and one power forward.

We have been passed by the likes of Texas A&M, Baylor, Colorado, Missouri, and Kansas State. Even Tech looks better than we do.

Other than that, things are OK.

Why did we stop recruiting West? Has he signed anywhere?

Maybe off-court or attitude stuff? Not saying I know ANYTHING, but that guy was a highly thought off player that sounded like he was headed this way. Who said we stopped recruiting him? Heard you mention that before, wasn't sure where the info was coming from [not doubting you, just curious of the source].

I didn't personally hear/read it, but someone on here said it was reported by James Hale.

Even if he project TJ as the pg, he's not going to say it because he's recruiting a pg. His whole recruiting approach is going to be telling someone they will be the starting pg from day one. I wouldn't be suprised if he's telling this to Terrence Jones. He'll sign a pg. The question is how good will they be.

Yes, there is one more juco PG that I think we have ties to. Rod Singleton.

Capel said he would sign one or maybe 2 PG's soon. I hope it's Watkins and Singleton but Lloyd looks more likely.

didnt capel also mention tj asking what he needed to work on and capel said something to the affect of point guard skillz???

After last year, who needs a point...just get me a few guys that can get the ball up the court and get the offense going...

i'm kidding of course, but that may be what we have to do without a true point...

I think TJ would be an excellent on ball point guard defender. He would definetely need help bringing it up and I don't see anyone on the roster that can help with that.
