Probably will start A. Fitzgerald(6'8"). At this point the first off the bench is hard to predict until coach has had a chance to watch, but I think it's between C.J. Washington and Abdi Ahmed. Ahmed will probably either redshirt or play mop-up. My guess. We may be better off playing Thompson and Washington both to compensate for lack of an accomplished center in a three out-two in configuration, but I think we have too many good possibilities at guard to do that. So, it's Fitz then who?

I think the edge has to go to Washington. Ahmed will be the third option I think. Thompson hopefully will be a guy who can guard the 4 and play inside or outside.

Fitz and C.J. at the 5 unless Ahmed comes along much faster weight wise and adjusting to D-1 then most expect him too. I really think how Nick handles the post defensively is a key to the season, If OU has to go small with young guys like Clark/Neal or even Cade it is going to add to the issues downlow. Unless the team OU is playing is already going with small ball as well I would rather not have a repeat of last season. Who knows, maybe Kyle has made some big strides this offseason in the weight room and is ready to contribute each game.

Im not sure Neal will make much of an impact this year. I hope he does though. Saw him in the All state game and he just seems too thin still. But he can play inside and outside which I know will help his chances to play.

If the season started today. You would see Nick and Fitz man the four and five spots. The good thing is that we have alot more time to determine if Ahmed can foot the bill. That's why it will be fun to see what happens. C.J. will be in the mix, but don't write Ahmed off just yet. BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!

PG: Carl Blair/TJ Taylor
SG: Cade Davis/Stephen Pledger
SF: Cameron Clark/Nick Thompson
PF: CJ Washington/Nick Thompson
C: Andrew Fitzgerald/CJ Washington

Folks, that is a 10-12 win lineup.

The only chance this team has is to hope that Pledger and Fitzgerald can average about 12-15 each and Clark averages around 15. Im not sure anyone else can score. Thompson averaged 8 or 9 a game in juco. Washington put up big numbers, maybe he will come through.

It will be an absolute miracle if they finish .500, in my opinion.

Isn't the same quality of line up Nebraska, Tech or Colorado (this year is an exception for the Buffs) usually has when you are predicting big time success for them abd?

Haha, no. Those Nebraska teams that I pimped went to the NIT and finished around .500 in the Big 12. At Nebraska, that is a pretty good season. They are more talented at 4/5 positions than OU next year. Yes, Nebraska is more talented than Oklahoma this year at 4/5 positions.

Texas Tech has 2 all-conference players (Roberson and Singletary), and a pretty good and experienced supporting cast with Tairu (senior), Reese (senior), Lewandowski (junior), Roberts (senior)...

I would bet money that Tech sweeps OU again this year and OU loses at home to Nebraska and Colorado.

For sure we will see Coach Capel's ability to coach this season.

I am not so sure we will see that this year unless we severely over achieve.

Anyone can coach team first guys and I fully expect us to be a decent team by years end. I truly believe the good coaches make their money when they have talent and me first guys... Gettin them to buy into a team concept is what separates coaches

I will take that bet and give you 2 to 1.

Also, I don't know if you realize this, but CJ Washington is a JuCo, and therefore, amazing.

hah can I get in on that bet too, abd?

you also forgot to mention how the top teams in the league took a step back in terms of talent/experience. Ut ku a&m baylor osu

If we lose at home to Tech, Nebraska AND Colorado then we are in for an absolutely pathetic season. If we can't beat any of those 3 teams at home then I guess we're going to go 0-16 in the league because I don't see any other games that are more winnable than those games are.

OU will steal 3-4 games somewhere, but I wouldnt be surprised to see them lose to Nebraska, Tech, or Colorado at home in front of 5,000 fans. Would you? Tech beat OU at home last year.

Here are the expected matchups... see if you agree or not:

Colorado vs. OU
Point Guards: Colorado
Shooting Guards: Colorado
Small Forwards: Colorado
Power Forwards: Colorado
Centers: Oklahoma

Nebraska vs. OU
Point Guards: Nebraska
Shooting Guards: Tie
Small Forwards: Oklahoma
Power Forwards: Nebraska
Centers: Nebraska

Texas Tech vs. OU
Point Guards: Texas Tech
Shooting Guards: Texas Tech
Small Forwards: Oklahoma
Power Forwards: Texas Tech
Centers: Tie

Anyone disagree with that right now?

Do you care to tell us who some of those Tech and Nebraska players that are automatically better than our own? I know the CU roster and I will say there is a lot of talent there (I still don't buy into redshirt freshman PG coming off injury > than Carl Blair but whatever).

Ok, lets start with Nebraska. Would you rather have Carl Blair and TJ Taylor (who isnt a point guard) or Kamyron Brown and Lance Jeter?

Kamyron Brown led Oregon in assists for two years and was the #18 point guard in the country coming out of high school. He is 3 years removed from high school and has 2 years of Pac-10 experience.

Lance Jeter made the all-newcomer team in the Big 12, started every game, and had 134 assists on the year. He is also 6'3'' 220 and great on defense. He nearly averaged 8 points and 4 rebounds a game along with the good assist numbers.

At power forward its simple... Christian Standhardinger is a good player and is going to be better than CJ Washington. He is bigger, more talented, has a year of Big 12 play under his belt, and he performed very well last year.

Center is another one... Brian Diaz is better than Andrew Fitzgerald. He is 6'11'', had a good true freshman year. He can shoot just as good as Fitz, but is bigger and has more of a post game.

If you have seen those guys play as true freshman you would pick them over CJ and Fitz. I saw them play quite a bit and those two are going to be very good college players.

Yep.

So would you say it's more likely for OU to win 3-4 games against the rest of their conference schedule than beat Tech, Nebraska or Colorado in Norman?

Texas Tech has John Roberson, a 4 year starter who has been a 15ppg guy for 2 years now. I doubt anyone expects Blair to be better than Roberson....

At PF they have Mike Singletary, who is better than anyone on OU's roster.

At shooting guard they have David Tairu, Jamel Outler, and a top 100 combo guard in Javarez Willis. They are pretty talented at that spot. Pledger has a chance to be pretty good but as a group I would expect Tech to be better.

I expect Cameron Clark to be better than Brad Reese at Tech, so OU was better there. Lewandowski and Fitz are probably even, so that was a tie.

Why are you constantly making this kind of posts? Especially when we haven't seen half of the team play? reeks of dooshbaggery
