Softball

Emerling with her third bomb of the series gives us a 2-0 lead at the bottom of the first.

Also it looks like they finally did bench Pickering

I recently saw this quote from Sam Presti: "People watching have these very, very strong opinions. They have 100 percent confidence with 10 percent of the information." - Sam Presti"
You naysayers and wannabe coaches take note! The coach is never wrong and is not to be criticized. lol

I love softball but haven't had the chance to catch many games this season.
The freshman parker looks to have a lot of potential. thoughts?

Agree. She really kept her composure. Seems to have some good pitches.
Agree. I hope she plays more moving forward, she could be critical to our chances in the postseason. I think this freshman class is a generational type of class when it comes to talent and have all the pieces to be champions several times before all is said and done!

Great win for OSU. The only issue with them is after Meylan their pitching drops significantly and their hitting isn't usually good enough to overcome it. That's why you'll see them get run-ruled in Game 2 of series quite often (Arizona AND Iowa State, just recently).

Ruby is indeed pitching on another level. However, I think it's worth noting that osu threw their ace against both OU and texass. Neither OU or texass used their ace against osu.

Yep. The loss wouldn't hurt either that much, so let other pitchers get good experience, plus playing between 2 tough series. I can think of a couple of other reasons not to pitch them. Save their arms, save people gaining knowledge of them.

OU really doesn't have an ace. Haven't for a couple years. For better or for worse.

Usually, you know pretty quick into a season who your best pitchers are and who your ace is. This year I think it may be evolving. Most of the year, Lowry and Gauchino have been the best pitchers and Lowry the ace. However, the longer the year has gone on I am starting to think Berzon and Parker may be our best pitchers and Parker may end up being the ace. Hard to call it now, but just watching them, it seems like that to me. Gauchino flat scares me. She looks good for a while that then doesn't get her rise ball over the zone and gives up home runs. Lowry has been good, but she seems up and down. They don't give you the speed of pitches like they do in the world series, but it seems to me Berzon is getting her speed back, and I love that she almost exclusively works the bottom of the zone. Parker looks like the kid with the most power and she is really starting to throw strikes more consistently. Patty and Jen will figure it out -- hopefully.

Was wondering about Georgia's pitching. Addison Fisher was really good at UCLA last year as a freshman. Not sure, if she is their best, that she can get them to the WCWS,
