Sorry, haven't been on the board too much, but what makes Grooms such a can't miss prospect that he will make us so much better?

I understand we need a PG, but his juco stats didn't look too good when I saw, but figured they weren't up to date. So would someone mind telling me his scouting report?

Thanks in advance

Grooms is a pure point guard, supposed to be really athletic and fast with the ball. He averages around 11 points, 6 assists, shoots over 40% from the 3pt line. Chipola usually has a lot of D1 players on the team, not sure how they are this year though.

Jones is a shooter. He is about 25 pounds lighter than Grooms. Not as strong, not as athletic. But is supposed to be a really good scorer and shooter. He averages 19 a game and was the Jayhawk Conference player of the year this season.

Pretty different players.

biga,
Now those that have seen Grooms believe that he could be more of a scorer but his juco team didn't require that at all.

I've seen ABD called a lot of different things, but "biga" is a first. Well done.

Is Grooms really better than Jones?????

Is this "East-Coast Hype"? Not an accusation but a question. He is from North Carolina, does that make Grooms "better" than Jones...or is it that Grooms played in Florida???

I don't know..so could this be a factor????

I want the better. Is it Grooms or is it Jones?

One guy had to carry his team, one guy didn't. Do we want a nice point guard or do we want a PLAYER? Is Grooms the player and Jones just a shooter. It is hard to find good info.

By the stats I pass on Grooms. Chipola went 25-6 Seward went 27-7.
Both a Game away from Hutch.

Nooneb, these are questions that no one can definitively answer. You're just going to have to trust Coach Kruger and his staff to find us the best player they possibly can.

I think Sid could provide a definitive answer if he still posted here...
