The Sooners have yet to hit their stride yet as a team.

Fran said it and I agree wholeheartedly.

They played really well yesterday, especially Thomas. The shooting % dipped in the 2nd half but that doesn't matter when you get to the line 21 times and hold the other team to 29%.

Really like the way Spangler & Thomas boxed out and Buddy/Cousins corralled the rebounds. Big Monday is finally Big again. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Fran really tickled me when, during the broadcast he said of the idiot call against Spangler that "he had been standing there since Tuesday". OUCH! Bet he gets some feedback from the network about that.

Yeah, when your kid is on the team, you can't really show ANY form of bias haha

they're still feeling their way along on offense.

To me it's a good thing to have so much improvement room left when we know we hit that stride last season ... but Texas is Monday. That said I must confess I'd rather be strong defensively first because that travels so much better.

Fran as right, that was a horrible call. The emphasis on the charge/block has been batted around so much in the past two years, I'm not sure some of the officials know how to make the call now. One thing is certain, the official who called that block on Spangler is totally confused. That would have been a charge under the old rules interpretation.

Back to the topic, I totally agree that, while this team is playing really well right now, they have yet to reach their peak. The offense Kruger ran against Baylor's 1-3-1 zone was a thing of beauty. The announcers said that was the most points an opponent has scored against the Bears so far this season. More importantly perhaps, our defense held them to 37% shooting from the field. That's good basketball by any stretch of the imagination.

They will get better but so will everyone else. OU could make the sweet 16 if all the marbles fall in the right place.

I am talking relative to everyone else. Obviously everyone else gets better...

It is not accurate to say everyone else will get better. Most probably will but I can guaranty several of the 300+ college basketball teams have peaked and will not get better.

You saying SS is like national championship for the average poster so I consider that HIGH praise...

Some get better. Some get worse. And some stay the same.

I think we've shown that we have a LOT of room to get better, especially offensively and depth-wise ... but are already playing at a high level.

And that late call against Ryan that fouled him out of the game: the replay clearly showed Spangler never touched the guy. Don't blame Ryan for being upset, though it really didn't matter at that point.
