wow. i didn't realize how heavily dependent ou is on tx. at least in 2010. i mean, i certaintly knew tx is always a priority for ou, but 13 of 16 recruits, wow.

Obvioulsy OU is recruiting more than those guys, but those are the ones that I know.

Monty Brown: Team Oklahoma & AF
Harrison Barnes: All Iowa Attack

dm, i should have thought of that. you're out of dallas?

I'm not focused on Texas, OU is. I do know some AAU people in texas.

Nice work, DM! Thanks.

I apologize in advance for getting a little off track from the intended topic by adding to your list. My primary goal is to show that our coaches are leaving few stones unturned in recruiting these days. As your list demonstrates, Coach Capel and his staff have made some tremendous inroads in Texas the last two years. Still, they continue to recruit pretty much the entire country in an effort to sign the best players available. Obviously, their hard work is paying dividends.

I should point out that my list does not imply a legitimate interest from either side. For example, with TMG coming in next year and our coaches turning up the heat on Phil Pressey, I doubt if Trevor Releford (Travis Releford's little brother for those who don't know) is even on our radar now. I do know OU has offered at least two recruits on this list, Barton and Cothron. I'm not sure about the others:

Trey Zeigler, 6' 5" 195 SG (Mt. Pleasant, Michigan)
Will Barton, 6' 6" 170 SG (Baltimore, MD)
Tobias Harris, 6' 7" 210 PF (Dix Hills, N.Y.)
DeMarcus Harrison 6' 4" 185 SF (Greenwood, S. C.)
Trevor Releford 5' 9" 160 PG (Shawnee Mission, KS)
Justin Jackson 6' 7" 200 PF (Monteverde, FL)
Tashawn Mabry 6' 5" 185 SF (Rocky Mount, N.C.)
Luke Cothron, 6' 8" 205 PF (Red Springs, N. C.)
Andre Stringer, 5' 10" 165 PG (Forest Hills HS, Miss.)
DeAndre McCamey, 6' 1" 190 SG (St. Joseph HS, IL.)
Majok Majok, 6' 8" 230 PF (South Kent HS, CT.)
Jackson Jeffcoat, 6' 6" 215 PF (Plano, Texas)

OU is also recruiting a 6'10 kid named Peters in Miami. He's a top 150 guy. Majok Majok is the cousin of Ater Majok, the Uconn center who just declared for the NBA.

Where is all the Athlete's First prospects? Is Oklahoma really that dry on talent for the 2010 year? Who is the next big Oklahoma recruit?
