Source Tommy Mason Griffin leaves Sooners

Well, if he doesn't want to put in the work or listen to coaches, he's better off going somewhere else.

Does he plan on dropping all his classes and transfering? In my opinion no way this kid can make it in the pros....good pg's will have a field day against him

I honestly believe with him leaving our defense just got 10x's better. Offensive we will hurt alittle without him but I am hoping that intices WW to come back, if so we could be better on offense without him with WW running the show and playing more like a team

Because one thing I do know, is that ALL year we played as individuals. That means when WW got hurt we were STILL playing as individuals. So the issue kept going on with or without WW in the lineup or even traveling with the team....makes you think!!

I dont like quitters anyways. Life in college is not supposed to be easy, its work. Work pays off if you put in the time.

I'm optimistic our defense will get better, primarily because it can't possibly get any worse. TMG was not a good defender, so one has to believe that almost anyone who replaces him will be an upgrade. But OU's offense will suffer from this loss, unless we can sign a point guard to take his place or Willie decides to come back for another season. With Tommy out of the way, the door is wide open for him to improve his point guard skills with virtually no competition for playing time at that position.

Too bad this news did not come before Ross-Miller committed, though. He would have been a more than adequate replacement. Now, we can only hope Capel signs one of the JUCO point guards he's recruiting, or a recruit who is already committed somewhere changes his mind when he recognizes the opportunity to step in and start next year.

Hope for a lot of coaching changes, starting with Turgeon to Oregon.

I'm not sure what more the guy wanted. He got to shoot nearly anytime he wanted. All that was asked was that he play just a little defense. I guess that was too much to ask.

He doesn't want to attend class is pretty much how I read into it...which is fine, everyone has their own life to live and college isn't for everybody.

From a basketball perspective, it's a really poor decision. Who knows what will happen with TMG on the court down the road, best of luck to him.

I think going to class has a lot to do with it also.
I can't see him transferring dropping out the spring semester like this.
I guess he will try the NBA and if not then Europe.

just reading his Facebook page really lets you know where his head is at.

What a disaster!

This is terrible. Don't let people fool you by talking about TMG's defense or his facebook. This has the potential to set us back a couple of years....

Really sad day for OU basketball.

Agreed. Not everyone is going to be our favorite person on or off the court, but talent is talent and we don't have anyone here or anyone coming in who is going to be as good. We are going to be bad next year, I suspect.
