Southern Illinois

I stand by what I said. The post depth is not a strong suit. And there was a lot of 1v1 the entire game. 9 assists vs 13 turnovers. Carter and Dungee appear to be able to create their own shots at this point. Everyone else seemed to struggle. The motion is still there for Oklahoma's offense, but the ball movement isn't.

Oklahoma will be fine as they have the playmakers needed to finish top 4 in the conference and easily get in the NCAAs.

I'm not sure it was so much 1 on 1 defense as you suggest. We have not given up all that much defensively. However Vivi has still struggled with foul issues. She had 3 in just 16 minutes or so. It is critical that she finds a way to get that under control. It was a problem last year but we had two centers to swap in and out.

As to the 40% 3 point shooting, I hope Sherri is right but I admit it will surprise me. Pleasantly surprise me by the way.

Based on the SIU game, I am not particularly concerned about three-point shooting. I had the feeling from watching the game that none of them were using any decent shooting form. They were working a system, and working that aggressive system was more important than hitting a shot. In addition to hitting only one three-pointer, I don't remember hitting any shot that was more than about five feet. This was about aggression, getting layups, and getting to the line.

Someone has decided not to live and die by the three.

Personally if none of our starting perimeter players made up of 3 experienced seniors and a junior were using any decent shoot form BTA I would be very concerned. The four starter shot 30.8% BTA in 2015 and their showing poor shooting form in their last game is to me a red flag. Especially when Sherri is apparently on record as expecting them to shoot close to 40% BTA as stated by S.O.G. earlier in this thread. 3 point scoring accounted for 27% of the Sooners' scoring last year when hitting 40% would have increased BTA scoring to 34%

If the team is going to hit the 40% BTA success Sherri is wanting that would amount to 55 more 3 point FG's based on the shots taken last year and those additional 165 points could win several ball games. But that is a pipe dream if they are not shooting with decent shooting form something seasoned veterans should not be doing.
