I have a feeling we will see a far different Ryan Spangler in Spokane than the tentative player that looked worn down in KC.

If so, I think we are in for a couple of weekends worth of OU BBALL!

We certainly need to.

I think the play of Spangler is the key to our success or lack thereof. If he's not rebounding and playing aggressive, we don't have anyone else that can do much of anything down low. We need the Spangler from the early big 12 season to show up.

I agree with you. :OU-logo:

Agreed

I just don't understand the worn down thing. He is like 20/21 years old. He had a full four days of rest after TCU and before Baylor. Now I understand if Kruger dogged them all week in practice, but i'm sure that didn't happen. How much rest do you need? This is all assuming there isn't some sort of nagging injury.

I know the type of bball I played in college(rec center pickup) is laughable compared to these guys. But there were some weeks I played 6 days a week for 3 hours a day. Sure a day of rest here and there was good but I was never that much worse for the wear....

You can almost pinpoint the part of the season where Spangler hit the "wall." His scoring and rebounding numbers started going down pretty steadily after Feb. 1.

And that's not surprising at all. Remember, he sat out all last year and played very limited minutes at Gonzaga. Given the way he plays and what he's asked to do for OU, it's totally understandable that he'd experience some physical/mental fatigue.

Hopefully he's had plenty of rest and is ready to kick some butt.
