“She could make you believe you could fly, but she could also terrify you,” Coale said. “Our locker room was not for the meek. You could not survive because she (Dales) ran the locker room. When her intensity burned too hot, the other players were able to filter it and handle it. It was a really unique group.”
Dales explained her behavior as follows: “If you don’t have a voice that can galvanize the locker room, you’re always going to stay in the same place. You have to rattle things just enough to where accountability becomes the primary conductor of an entire group. You don’t watch a symphony and not see a maestro. You’re all trying to figure out who you are, fighting for the same thing, but there has to be a voice in there."
Stacy and I are going out for dinner after the game.

She reminded everyone she was going out with me after the game. That was the nice part.

Our team that went to the final four was NOT a talented team, except, of course for Stacy. No one else was particularly talented although they were good basketball players. In that game they faced what was and is probably the most talented women's basketball team ever. Didnt 4 of their 5 starters play for the WNBA? Stacy played as hard as it is possible for a human to play. Other than Coach Coale, she laid the foundation for the resurrection for OU women's basketball.
four of the five played on the 2012 olympic team. perhaps with a different coach they would not have, but they did. Comparison to Larry Bird and the 1979 Indiana State runner up, where Michigan State had four starters go to the NBA led by Magic Johnson. It was Bird and four intramural players. Dales was to OU what Bird was to ISU.
That is a tremendous slap in the face to LaNeisha Caufield and Caton Hill.four of the five played on the 2012 olympic team. perhaps with a different coach they would not have, but they did.
