Anyone know if there are any candidates to replace Yo-Yo?

One would think that with the summer workouts just around the corner, Lon would turn his attention to bringing in a S & C coach to guide what has been described as an eager group of players who are anxious to get better this summer. A proper strength and conditioning regimen will be even more important for the newbies coming in.

Any news or thoughts?

I would be surprised if they hadn't already had one for the time being. Maybe an interim or something. That's too long a period for the players not to have a coach in such a crucial area.

You could be right. Maybe he is already there.

Didn't OU have a GA or two on staff when Kelvin was the coach? Actually, one of the GA's used to post on this board (can't remember his username right now). Seems to me he went from the basketball team to the football team and back again. My memory is not as good as it used to be, which is why some of the details I'm remembering are a little foggy now.

gstrueinsider was his user name wasn't it?

No, gstrue was Kelvin's videographer. He was a great source of information back then...that is, until Joe C found out about it. lol

I haven't seen gstrue on the board in sometime. But he came back under another username a little more than a year ago, or it could have been two. Time is flying by really fast for me these days.

Ada, without saying who they are, do we have many current or ex-players posting on the board? No doubt some of them read the board. I remember we had a poster with the user name of something like ouhighjumper that used to post. He played basketball in the late 60's and was on the track team, too. Good guy and we used to PM…. it might have been on the OU Insider board. I think he lived in Chickasha and got too busy to post. He was the one that told me about the annual reunion the older OU basketball alums would have at a home football game every year. Maybe the alumni basketball game has taken it's place now.

They had two ga's on staff already

Are the GA's filling in until LK hires another S & C coach, Gary? If not, any idea who has been working with the players?

"highjumper" is a member on this board as well as a longtime poster on OUInsider. He's a former player, but I don't know his true identity.

I haven't seen him on the board in three years or more. He's a great poster, so it would be nice to see him on the board again.

As for any current or past players who post on the board now, I don't spend nearly as much time in using my "research skills" as I used to do. Some people may call it "snooping." I prefer to call it "research." :ez-laugh:

As I have mentioned before, there have been a number of players who have posted here in the past, especially during the Capel era. I can think of at least four who were teammates of Blake Griffin. Jeff Capel even signed up to enter our NCAA tournament contest on ESPN back then. His mother was also a member here once.

The players on Blake's team did it as a joke. I heard they would get together after games to read what posters were saying about them. That group of kids had a lot of fun. Really good players, too!

Yes. At the awards dinner, Lon introduced two young men as ga's leading the s&c program
