Student section

Looks like a group called @OUNoblemen (on Twitter) is trying to rally students for the student section. Wish them best of luck. Would make a huge difference in the atmosphere at LNC.

Love the name and the effort to get more students to games! Fans my age and even younger tend to be more reserved. Students are the key to a rowdy crowd that gets the older fans fired up and makes our players feel like they're appreciated.

Absolutely. I was lucky enough to attend OU from 88-92, so I got to see some great basketball (but bad football). Our student section was so good back then. Of course Billy out out a product that could excite anyone, but still, we arrived early and were loud. We always had the OU Daily to "read" during intros for the opposing team. I remember you had to get there 2 hours before the KU, UNLV, Mizzou type games to get a decent seat in the student section. I miss it. However, I firmly believe that with the right coach and team (which I think we have), we could get that back. I don't know that the rest of the fans were any different than us old folks now, but the students sure we're rowdy back then.

We were pretty good in the Kelvin Sampson years as well for awhile
