First, are the basketball players in summer school and doing voluntary workouts like the football players.

Second, are all the players in? Is Issansa enrolled?

Third, what is any contact are the coaches allowed to have with the players in the summer

Fourth, if the kids are there and working out, has anyone seen a practice and if so, what are your thoughts on the new kids.

1. Yes most all Summer athletes got here June 1ish
2. I think all players are here. Not sure though... I’m not ou email stalking them
3. 2 hours a week or something like that... on court basketball related.
4. Not yet. Just getting started.

I saw where Polla is in Finland playing in the European Championship circuit this summer. Also, I didn't see Rick Issanza's name in the student directory yet but that may not mean anything.

Today (Monday 6/10) is the first day of classes.

Rick will be on campus this week. Not here yet

Jucos aren’t here yet.

So Williams and Merritt aren't there. Are they supposed to get there for the first summer session later this week? I'm anxious to see how Williams' role develops. Is Garang there? I know he isn't a juco but he really isn't a HS kid either.

I guess that means Harmon, Hill, and Iwuakor are the only new faces so far. All 3 have a chance to contribute next season.

Iwaukor not here. Garang is here. Williams taking a class & will be here in August.
Merritt & Iwaukor should be here soon. Waiting on final transcripts.

Is Iwaukor the kid who didn't play his senior year due to eligibility issues from transferring?

Weird that those guys are having to take classes/wait on transcripts before they get here. They are all in the OU student database, besides Issanza. I thought once you were in there, you were in....?

Clearing house, compliance etc.

Formalities.

1 thing i will say is that the workouts are coach led for a few hours a week and then player (strength coach) led for the rest of the week

My understanding is the "team" can have two 1-hour practice sessions every week, or in a one-on-one or position group session with an assistant coach. The rest of the time (6 more hours) is spent with Darby (S&C coach).

The measure, adopted by the NCAA's board of directors, says, "In men's basketball, a student-athlete who is enrolled in summer school may engage in required weight-training, conditioning and skill-related instruction for up to eight weeks (not required to be consecutive weeks). Participation in such activities shall be limited to a maximum of eight hours per week with not more than two hours per week spent on skill-related instruction.
