I understand Hurleys antics may be distasteful for most, but the guy knows basketball and the guy can coach his tail off. I enjoy watching UConn play.
He’s definitely a jerk but so are most elite coaches. He fights hard for his team and expects them to do the same. I respect that and I’d love that if he were our coach.I understand Hurleys antics may be distasteful for most, but the guy knows basketball and the guy can coach his tail off. I don’t know about the first part. Izzo. Pitino. Kelvin. Self. Painter. I can’t think of many elite coaches who constantly berate officials and whine like a baby in press conferences. He’s definitely a jerk but so are most elite coaches. not talking about texting .. his final class was all getting PAIDTexting extra doesnt = what KU did (nil before nil) IMO
Kelvin's?not talking about texting .. his final class was all getting PAID
We would be super confused trying to figure out how Loser got us to the FF and Elite 8 in consecutive seasons lol.Watching the end of that Duke game…was wondering how this board would have reacted if OU had lost in a similar fashion.![]()
no because kelvin took the IU job and the class fell apart ..Kelvin's?
lol, that wasn't what we got in trouble for at all. Like I said above, regardless of your laugh emoji, most of the findings were impermissible texts to Austin Johnson.
Even the best teams & coaches have hiccups in the big moments. I can’t imagine losing a game like that, when the FF is on the line. I don’t feel sorry for Duke at all…but I can’t stand Hurley, so it was bittersweet. We would be super confused trying to figure out how Loser got us to the FF and Elite 8 in consecutive seasons lol.
Exactly how I felt. Had a hard time watching the game because I hate one team (Duke) and one coach (Hurley) so much. For a while, I wondered if I might be pulling for Duke for the first time when they weren't playing KU, but then when UConn made the shot, I got very excited -- until the camera panned to Hurley two seconds later.Even the best teams & coaches have hiccups in the big moments. but
reynolds James ect were coming because OU was playing the game big time with them (read getting paid)
james even asked in his call with capel if his deal was still good ..
I recall a story about Capel literally begging James to stick with his commitment. I definitely have never heard that Kelvin/OU had plans to pay anyone -- and that sure seems to fly in the face of how OU was operating by then. I have a hard time believing that Joe C and Kelvin would still be so close if Kelvin was doing that. Who knows, though.Wow, that's a bombshell. I never thought of Kelvin as paying anyone to play at OU. What I heard about James is that when Capel called, his brother talked to him pretending to be Damion. The reason for that is he simply did not want to play for Capel since he committed to play for Kelvin.
Regardless, his 2003 recruiting class was Kelvin's highest rated, but arguably least productive. Oddly enough, 2003 was also Bob Stoops highest ranked recruiting class and arguably least productive. I don't know what was in the Oklahoma air in 2003.
You see Hurley like headbutt/touch foreheads with the ref afterward?Even the best teams & coaches have hiccups in the big moments. I can’t imagine losing a game like that, when the FF is on the line. I don’t feel sorry for Duke at all…but I can’t stand Hurley, so it was bittersweet.
certainly not the same situation as an Elite 8 game but we basically suffered that same fate twice in a 5 minute span at MizzouWatching the end of that Duke game…was wondering how this board would have reacted if OU had lost in a similar fashion.![]()
That game felt like two losses for sure.certainly not the same situation as an Elite 8 game but we basically suffered that same fate twice in a 5 minute span at Mizzou
He’s such a tool. You see Hurley like headbutt/touch foreheads with the ref afterward?
Small dick
Super weird. Could have drawn a technical. Why is a grown ass coach doing stupid stuff like that? Does he think hes actually cool? If I were in his shoes, I'd be the most boring coach ever. It's not about me, it's about the players, the team, the brand

would appear so but being an old I can remember a few Semi's like this that seemed like the defacto championship game only to see the winner fall flat on Monday. Unfortunately the primary one would be OU-Arizona in '88. Thought for sure the winner of that would breeze to the title. Others that come to mind are Houston-Lousiville in '83 which was a great 1 vs 2 matchup followed by the unforgettable NC State win over Houston in the NC. A few years later in '85 it was the Georgetown - St Johns semi , the year that Villanova then shocked the Hoyas. Our Sooners were oh so close to getting Villanova in the semi's but lost a heart breaker to Memphis St. in Dallas at the Elite 8This season is a good example of maybe reseeding teams for the FF would actually be a good idea. It’s been talked about before, and I never put a lot of thought into it…but to me, the NC game is Zona vs. Mich. those two seem like the best two teams to me…yet they play in the semis.![]()
