Terry Evans thoughts on who is the state's best BB team

"Former OU player Terry Evans said that SNU (Southern Nazarene) is the most talented men's basketball team in the state. He even clarified and said that includes ou, osu, tulsa, oru, etc. Pretty interesting statement. I had no idea that SNU had become a major player in D1 basketball."

Well, damn. I almost went to the UCO-Southern Naz game last night. Had I known SNaz had C.J. Henry and Xavier Alexander I would have definitely checked it out. I know, cool story bro.

Anyway, that SNaz roster is interesting. They have players from Oklahoma, New Jersey, Georgia, Flint (Mich), Memphis, Texas, Montenegro, France and Ireland. They're ranked second in NAIA, FWIW.

I bought it when I heard it, CJ Henry and Alexander are pretty impressive.

Hindsight and looking at the roster, I don't know.
Andrew Fitzgerald, Stephen Pledger and Cameron Clark are pretty good compared to that program.

TE just trying to get a lil attention for the lil guys. We have some pretty good hoops teams at UCO, SNU, OBU, & OCU this yr. OBU won it all last yr, and OCU has been a force until last yr( they lost their coach). SNU is expected to do alot in the NAIA, and most of that is because of CJ and X

Terry Evans knows basketball. He wins with strictly Oklahoma kids on a $0.00 recruiting budget. He does have the best player in the state (Dauntae Williams) on his roster(the only out of state player on his roster). The guy played for one of the best OU teams ever, learned coaching from Tubbs and Sampson; and has won every where he's been.

I believe he is the best coach in this state and if he says their the best then I believe it.

If Capel doesn't survive, Joe C would be a fool not to hire him.

i joke of course...X Alexander with 19 and is just too much of a man at that level, just no jumpshot...Williams kid from UCO with 24...

That wasn't a statement saying we should get rid of Capel...I like Capel and hope that he is our coach ten years from now but if he doesn't survive, I like Evans background(coaching, recruiting, and his OU connection) and how he continues to put together winning seasons and win with mainly Oklahoma players because UCO gives him no money for recruiting and UCO only wants him to bring in Oklahoma kids.

I tried to tell people on this board (mostly Cheno) that Henry wouldn't even be the best player on his team at SNU. He's just not that good.
