Texas at OU

When you are on defense, how do you foul the offensive player if you have your back to her and both hands in the air?

Worst call of the night......I nominate the foul called on Sharane when the big girl from Texas pushed her from near the basket out past the free throw line. I don't think I've ever seen a girl get pushed in the back and then be called for a foul...:facepalm

100% agree. I laughed, too.

This is a great young OU team. They have a bunch of very tough road games ahead in conference play, but these Sooners will compete in every game they play.

Lots of great individual performances tonight and, of course, a great team effort. Like another poster mentioned, I wonder how much better it would have been if Gioya and Kaylon would have both played most of the game. Gioya scored 11 in only 9-plus minutes. She probably would have gone off for 30 if she hadn't been whistled for all those cheap fouls.

I'm really proud of this team. They're tough and they don't back down from anyone.

There were some bad calls that favored Texas. That was the dumbest.

Vivi had 6 points and 7 rebounds, the most of anyone other than Little who had 10----!!!

I think the reason that we did so well in the paint was two-fold. Gioya tends to score in the paint when she isn't hitting threes. Maddie either scored in the paint or passed off in the paint. With all the passes under the basket, I don't know why she is credited with only two assists.

I love garbage collectors, and Peyton is turning into one of the best.

Finally decided to get the video for a month but not impressed. Love looking at empty court while players are at the other end. Also, why was there no audio with the video? Is that usual? no play by play? I do not know if the audio subscription was working DURING the game but I could not get it after the game started. Was it on during the game or if it was, can you only play one on your acount at a time.....an either or, audio or video? Anyway, tried listening to kokc radio with the game but the radio was ahead of the video (when my video worked at all), so that was difficult.

Still with all this frustration, sure excited about the game. In 9 minutes, Carter gets 11 pts, one rebound and a block. Almost high scorer, but for the fouling at the end. NOW, about the fouls. Only saw one and it was not a smart foul. Didn't see the others.

Fun game. Impressed with Vivi and she started looking like her leg was giving her a little problem in the first half, after she went down...can't remember, seems like it was a collision around the basket...not sure if either player was called for a foul.

Nicole went down hard too with a player on top of her.

Good effort by all. Love that Maddie had a good game and played so many minutes.

I'm anxious to see the box score.....I know that Peyton had a double-double; would like to see the rebounding and turnover stats.

I think they outrebounded us, 48-46. They had more turnovers, 15-14.

I had commented that I would like to see Gioya and Maddie on the court at the same time. But, I noticed that Sherri subbed Maddie in for Gioya in the second half, same role.

This is a special group. Whatever Sherri did after the rough patch I applaud her.

We out did them in points off turnovers 30-6. That is what won us the game. That is a HUGE stat!

Important stat: Bench points-UT 17, OU 25.

When your bench comes through like that, it gives the starters plenty of time to rest.

I think it is clear that Maddie is officially over her injuries. She said back in the summer that she was 100% physically. Tonight she proved it. Hope tonight was just the beginning of many more great games for her.

Yes! Plus many off the bench have started, and have the potential to start which is huge.

The key stat: Points in the paint
Texas 22
OU 24
Texas has averaged winning this stat by 18. Taking it away from them was key.

I think Sherri mentioned this. She also mentioned that she thought Maddie could drive the lane on them. That is the reason she turned the game over to Maddie at the end. I'm surprised that Maddie had that much staying power.

That foul that they called on Sharane giving Enempkali free throws when it was Nneka consistently pushing Sharane in the back out front was absurd, as the announcers noted. What were the officials thinking?
Officials? Think? Surely you jest!
