Tech is about the #6 or 7 three point shooting team in the nation. Only two shooters launch nearly all of the attempts: Caldwell and Brooks. Caldwell has hit 50 and Brooks, 30. They shoot 40% from three while their opposition shoots only 24.05%. WV was 11 of 21 against us and only 6 of 21 against Tech.

They rebound about the same as their opponents and have about the same turnovers. They block 5.38 shots per game. The key to their success is that they shoot about ten points higher than their opposition from the field.

They lost at Texas A&M in OT, 98-90 when A&M was 21-28 from the line, while Tech was only 6 of 13. A&M also won the rebound battle, 45-34.

They lost to Miami in Coral Gables when Miami did everything a bit better.

They lost 66-60 at Arkansas when Arkansas was 12 of 19 from the line while Tech was 2 of 3. Tech was called for 16 fouls to the Razorbacks 7.

Texas beat them 67-47 by outrebounding them 49-28,

They lost 68-54 at Kansas State when State was called for 11 fouls while Tech was called for 18. They also shot only 33% against K-State.

Tech beat OSU, Iowa State, and West Virginia---in Lubbock. As yet, they haven't found a way to win on the road. They have zero road wins. They have one win at a neutral site, Fordham in Coral Gables, 59-50.

Zuri Sanders (6' Soph Forward) was back for her first game this season against WVU. Big defensive presence.

Tech has hit 84% of their free throws in conference play, a long-time Achilles heel of the Lady Raiders, including 25-26 vs ISU. (I'm proud of the little things. We're digging our way out of the cellar over here.)

Haven't won on the road. 0-5 (Though I thought they gave A&M all they wanted in College Station. Gary Blair said Tech was "By far the most improved team in the Big 12." But he doesn't play many Big 12 teams any more, so what does he know? And he's a former Red Raider - played baseball at Tech - so he may be a little partial.)
Haven't lost at home. 10-0

Senior Ivonne Cook-Taylor passed the 1000 career points mark last night.

I'm rather glad this one is in Norman. As I said on Hoopscoop, I have no read on Tech yet. I thought their best game may have been losing to A&M. Above, I tend to be implying that the officiating seemed strange at A&M and at Arkansas.

Saw the Texas Tech/W VA game and tech is really good. They have Sanders back and she might be their piece of the puzzle. We will have our hands full....They gave W. VA everything they wanted....

I may be at the game. Never been to a game at OU.

EDIT: Upgrade that to PROBABLY coming to the game.

Sherri said it was to be 44 at game time, above the freezing point? But, the forecasts that I see online are for 34 with fifty percent chance of rain at 2:00 PM.

I had hoped the broadcast would have an echo in the sound again but no luck. I wonder who I could complain to?

That first basket I loved the passing: bam - bam- bam.

We start out with great movement and passing and after going up by double digits we fall back into dribble, dribble bad shot or shooting to early with one-on-one play.

So maddening.

No tv? No radio? Does the athletic department have a mad on with Sherri?

We have had some beautiful possessions

Gioya and Gabbi need to cut down on the dribbling, other than that- we have played some beautiful offense. Even the misses look pretty.

Stunning defense for the first half. Tech is a good shooting team, and they are 25.8% from the field.

After Maddie hit that first shot, she can't hit anything. But, everyone else is hitting.

We were four of four early inside. Then, we started going to perimeter shots.
