The Conferences and the 2019 Sweet-16

Teams in the Sweet-16
5 .. ACC (Virginia, North Carolina, Duke, FSU, Virginia Tech)
4 .. SEC (Kentucky, Tennessee, LSU, Auburn)
3 .. Big-10 (Purdue, Michigan State, Michigan)
1 .. Big-12 (Texas Tech)
1 .. West Coast (Gonzaga)
1 .. American Athletic (Houston)
1 .. Pac-12 (Oregon)

This stat is going to make other stats appear like they were not what they were purported to be.

Stat shows pretty much we all knew this year..big 12 not real good

It was good / solid. The worst team in the conference beat us two-out-of-three. It just wasn't great - no top 10 teams. A #4 seed is basically a 50/50 to make the Sweet 16 (though we're 0-4 all-time in Sweet 16 appearances as a #4 seed) and the conference went 0-2. The only top-3 seed made it.

The best conference at the bottom.

But definitely not as good as the other 3 at the top. Kansas/KSu fell apart.

Worst Big 12 team, Ok State, ranked higher than 5 ACC teams

ACC has more teams.

Best site to see teams split into Quadrants?

Looking at this statistic alone, we look like the best conference when you consider we only have 10 teams and most others near us have 14-16.

break that down into separate teams...

ex 10 Bg12 team in sweet 16...ku how many times in 3 yrs? etc...

to me that would show conf strength more. Could be the same 2 or 3 teams..leaving 7 or 8 out..make sense?

Its a bit misleading. The Big 12 was very good, but had a lot of teams id rank between 17-32. KState would have likely made the Sweet 16 if Wade was 100%.

I agree. ISU was a disappointment but who can honestly be surprised given how inconsistent they were all season. KU wasn't even favored against Auburn and wasn't the same team they were in November and December, which is when they earned a good seed. And obviously KSU wasn't full strength, though I think even with Wade their offense was iffy enough that their ceiling was limited. OU and Baylor both won coin flip games and lost to much better teams in the second round. No one went into the tournament thinking that anyone other than Tech was a legitimate contender to make a deep run.
