the very same people who are overreacting now were saying Ray Willis and other marginal recruits were going to set the world on fire. The people with the least credibility make the most noise.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Capel knows what he is doing and that's why he is making $1.5 mil a year.

Yeah he planned on having 4 players on this roster from last years young roster. And he planned on having only 3 recruits this late in the recruiting period.

lol it sure looks like he knows what he is doing...has 3 players declaring to go pro within their first 2 years of school and we still have a bad record.
he cant control anyone in the locker room

Boy he is on top of stuff

This is getting old. Ther are a small number of posters here that think there is no major problem and that everything is fine. These are the same posters that were on here telling everyone that we were fine and everything was just "rumors". Well, as it turns out, the "rumors" were correct. If a few of you want to go on thinking that we are fine and everything will work out, go ahead. The rest of us will use the facts to decide what is really going on. Capel has a very real and significant problem. The program is in disasterous shape and I don't see us winning as many games next year as we did this year and this was the worst season in several decades. Jeff will be our coach next season, but unless something unprecedented happens it will most likely be his last.

Who are these people? I want to share their drugs.

I would too. I don't think everything is "fine", but I do think that Capel deserves a chance to right the ship and that all of the bellyaching on here about how bad we are going to suck is tiresome.

Yep, could not have said it better myself.

Thats where I am. Nothing we can do but look forward.

Fortunately the Admin.'s seem to be of the same mindset. I'm beginning to think that if anyone posts something positive, there are some posters on here who want to drop a turnd on it and ruin the thread.

Yea, Capel has everything under control. NCAA investigation, 3 players who played minutes returning, no post players, no point guards, etc.

Everything is coming together perfectly for Capel.

Wow.

What a disaster. All that positive stuff I was saying before, never mind. OU is screwed forever and will never ever ever be good (or even competitive again). I'm just going to have to console myself with my Billy Tubbs 8 x 12 autographed picture and a jar of (okay, not headed there lol).

Hopefully the jar of (whatever) and the picture of Tubbs are used separately. :)

Not that their's anything wrong with that...(to quote Seinfeld)

Did I not post the reality of the situation?

There is a difference between being negative and being honest. Sometimes what is actually going on isnt good.

Dude, I was making a joke.

Interesting anecdote:

When they first embraced democracy, the Athenians would have a vote at the end of every year and whoever "won" was banished from the city for like ten years. What was funny about it was often the "winners" were statesmen who told the truth and had grave concerns about the future...it wasn't that these statesmen were wrong, it was just that the Athenians would get tired of hearing about it. The banishment vote was intended to be a way to ensure that people didn't act like jerks throughout the year, but the reality was that the statesmen who had the best intentions were often the ones sent packing. Moral: You can be right and merely speak the truth, but too much of a good thing will lose support eventually...if the truth is that bad, people get tired of hearing it.

The funny thing is the very same poster who called Capel's "lockout" a "childish stunt" on one day, is telling us he knows what he's doing, the next.

At least, you understand the inverse relationship between "making noise" and credibility, even though you refrain from letting it limit your noise making.

Incidentally, while I'm concerned about the future of the program, I still have faith in Capel. I just think boca's hypocrisy should be highlighted.
