The funny thing is ...

The university is investigating, but is the NCAA?

Yes, though at the moment simply with the school, not independently.

OU athletic director Joe Castiglione issued a statement reading, in part: “In the review that is ongoing at this time, we are working jointly with the NCAA in a thorough examination of the facts.”

Worth following over the coming weeks is how involved the NCAA becomes. OU will want to avoid a separate NCAA investigation, which can lead to NCAA allegations and, ultimately, penalties, particularly since its athletic department is already on probation through May 23 as a result of infractions committed by the football and men’s basketball programs over the past decade.

The funny thing is that Peter Griffin doesn't look so dumb with his Volcano Insurance now!

I think the funny thing is people just now realizing we are in this bad of situation for next season.

I think the funny thing is how future recruits read internet message boards. I also think it's funny that a recruit we need desperately need could be reading this thread and even your responses to this thread! I don't think it's funny that he could be wandering why in the hell would he ever come here or thinking it's very obvious there's little confidence in the basketball program and very little support from the fans.

The REALLY funny thing is that we could all try and be a bit more positive even if deep down we aren't.

We all agree that recruits should NOT read message boards and if they do, they should not pay any attention to what they read. But, in real life they do read these boards and what we say can have an affect on their thinking.

i would too. I don't think everything is "fine", but i do think that capel deserves a chance to right the ship and that all of the bellyaching on here about how bad we are going to suck is tiresome.

a-men!!
