Re: The NBA Playoffs Thread

Let the hype begin for the Heat Nets series.

Re: The NBA Playoffs Thread

Let's try this again. If you want to talk about the playoffs on this board then stick to this thread. If you want to start a thousand new threads on NBA topics than go here to the NBA board. Thanks.

The series is probably decided tonight in OKC. Can't see either team winning two in a row to close it out.

Can the Clippers forget about the Donald Sterling deal long enough to win game 5 tonight? What a horrible distraction.

If the Clips win, it will be "They Banded Together Against Donald Sterling". If they lose it will be, " The Sterling Distraction Cost the Clips the Series".

Either way, I agree it's a horrible distraction. I personally think they will play lights out and put it aside. They have some veterans on the team, and I believe they will re-focus the young guys....

They need to stop worrying about what we can do to stand together, like wearing black socks or wearing shirts inside out and focus on what they are paid to do and thats win. Let the commissioner worry about Sterling b/c thats his job and they need to focus on the warriors b/c thats their jobs.

Not realistic, IMO.... people in corporate America, labor jobs, etc ban together in protest every day. It's not that easy to just stop worrying about it when the media, and fans everywhere are making it the biggest story in the world.

NY sports teams played games after 911, but they also did little things to show solidarity, etc. Wearing their shirts inside out certainly won't stop them from playing at a high level. Having to answer 100000's of reporter's questions might be more of a distraction. I have no problem with the players expressing themselves. It certainly didn't hurt the Miami heat as they supported Trayvon Martin all the way to title #2.

yeah, I am really worried about how they handle it. I hope they can get their minds on right now that the NBA has spoken. I so want to see them win this series and move forward.

Game 4 was the bigger debacle, uncertainty about over the situation.

Game 5 is different, they will be ready to play. Staples will be bumpin'.

Griz tried to give that game away like they did the last one. Had to make every boneheaded clock management blunder in the book not to close it out in regulation. Nice to see them win though.

No doubt!!!! It's as if Memphis has tried in each of the last 3 games to force the Thunder to take the game. Memphis would be so good if they had a closer....

Never seen KD play like this. MIssing open shots. Missing tip ins. Missing layups. Missing free throws. Not playing D. Not doing anything but staying outside the arc. NOt playing like an MVP. I put these losses squarely on him. His struggles have also magnified Brooks shortcomings as a coach. He pretty much said KD had the freedom to take any shot he wanted to at the end of the game.

Gutwrenching series to watch as a fan. SO many close games.

Still dissappointed how few fouls they call on tony allen and zbo for as physical they are. And KD isn't getting the calls he usually gets when going to the basket.

KD, Westbrook, Brooks.

Pick one...they are all liable for this debacle, believe Brooks more than the other two but each has had some terrible stretches in this series.

3/4 ovetime games OKC had no business being in, it's a minor miracle this even made it to a Game 6.

A few observations from last night

1. Brooks is a mediocre coach, at best.
2. Durant appears to be shrinking from the situation at hand. Never seen him miss so many open jumpers. And then his last shot of the game was a Westbrook style poor decision. Other great players were eviscerated for playoff performances like Durant has had and some had better performances than Durant and were still eviscerated. Time for Durant to receive some heat?
3. Westbrook is the most confounding player in the NBA. He goes from making poor decisions with the basketball to being brilliant to making poor decisions to being brilliant again.

I completely agree with all 3 points.
