after hiring the best coach available ...say GOODBYE to the LNC and move games back on campus.

Drop some money on McCasland, create a cozier atmosphere where the students cheers actually make a difference, and turn the damn heat up!

That is a great idea. McCasland could become the (old) Boston Garden of the SW.

I've went to volleyball games at McCasland but haven't even noticed...is there even room to expand it? Could be a good idea.

I don't know how in the world you could expand it. There's not much area along the sidelines.

I think it would be a great idea to host most of the non-conference games at McCasland and then host all the conference games at the LNC. Students who are curious about OU basketball can easily see them at McCasland and then once they are hooked they will want to go to the LNC.

move UPWARD not OUTWARD...and sorry geeoh, but LNC gets cutout altogether in this step. We lean more towards a Cameron Indoor feel than LNC.

There is room to expand McCasland but you'd have to build the ROTC a new building (which is possible if they would agree to move across the street. Parking is there with the parking lot from the football stadium right there).

McCasland is a fantastic place to watch a BBall game. When they had the '09 team scrimmage there before the Nebraska game a couple of years ago it was truly rocking. A great atmosphere.

Guys...it's not a matter of making tens of thousands of new seats. We're gonna have fewer seats. But it will be a MUCH better place for our team to play.

:clap

I've always thought this could be a great idea.

We could get McCasland loud. Really loud. Whatever we do, our arena has to be less seats, more closed in, and steeper pitched seats. We need a basketball arena, not a concert venue.

Yep, and as you know, you get a real sense of how freaking huge the LNC actually is when they take out the seats surrounding the court for a gymnastics meet.

Hire Chris Hansen to MC the games.

I am sure the are just going to abandon the new basketball facility they built a few years ago at about 20 mill plus, b/c some people cant walk a mile to the games

When I was an undergraduate, we had ALL of the games on campus. We also had Alvan Adams. We got a nice crowd for Kansas or Oklahoma State. The rest of the games---there were intramural games with more fans. The students don't live on campus, and they didn't think it was the cool thing to do to go to a game. Nobody was there to be seen. It was just the few nuts who actually liked basketball: along with Parrack and Stevens.

And while were at it how about bringing in Krzyzewski to coach. That's as likely to happen as moving back to McCasland.

LNC is loud and intimidating when people show up! That's all it takes!
