***The OFFICIAL bracket unveiling thread***

east notes

- if Temple can score enough points to get to the second round past Cornell they can hang with Wisconsin
- Mizzou has a good shot, Texas needs to thug it up
- Marquette is a tough 2nd round draw for UNM

It may sound odd because Chaney hasn't coached them in a while, but I believe Temple is a serious threat for the Final Four. If you've had a chance to watch them, they would remind you of a quality Big East team. If they can get by Wisconsin, then they have a legitimate chance to beat UK.

I think Wake beat Texas....but they are mirror images of each other.

Temple has a pretty solid group and I agree about the comment concerning UK. The Owls are the kind of team that could present UK with problems...but Cornell is the type that Temple can find a challenge.

I love the contrasting styles of NCAA tourney matchups. It's very rarely the "any given team" thing....more like "luck of the draw". I don't think we've had a champ who could match any style thrown at them since the Tark UNLV teams.

Go Jay Bilas with Cornell. Only school in the tourney that is close to being on the same level intellectually as Jay Bilas Esquire.

i just glanced at the brackets, but the one that kentucky is in looks very weak

yeah, baylor got a fantastic bracket.

you aren't kidding. Table is set for Bears, now it is time to eat. Their backcourt gets to play in front of family and friends in New Orleans (Dunn/Carter from Louisiana) and then if they make it to the sweet 16, they get to play in Houston against probable East Coast teams (Villanova, Duke).
