1:23 left, crowd is cheering, unprovoked, during a timeout. We sense that OU is going to pull it out, and are appreciative of their effort. It was a nice moment. Then, spiky hair goes, "ALRRRIGHT SOOOONA FANS THERE'S A MINUTE TWENTY THREE LEFT, WE NEED YOU LOUD AND PROUD!" We were already cheering! Believe it or not, there are such things as OU basketball fans. We don't need some guy yelling at us the whole time, especially when we're already cheering! That just pissed me off. I've complained about him on this board before (I think his hyper voice is nails on a chalkboard), but I understand his purpose to an extent. This, however, was ridiculous...

I'm pretty sure he's queued by someone else on when and what to say, like the band is by the band director. But his annoying voice is his fault. Lol! Most schools have a big voice guy, we have annoying voice guy.

The crowd was already involved! Then hyper dude drowned it out.

Even the Thunder, in the soulless entertainment-over-basketball dearth that is the NBA (sarcasm), limits their second announcer to narrating shooting contests and the like, and I think he does a great job. Not annoying, doesn't talk too much. Night and day from that Jonathan guy they had their first season.

I miss the days of the main PA guy going "your OKLA-homa SOONERS!" like he does during the lineup introductions when OU took the court. Up there with "It's football time in Oklahoma!" Now it's this goof going "WegottaturntheLloydNobleCenterintotheLOUDNobleCenterhereareyour, OKLAHOMA, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONERS!" in a ninth grader's voice. Barf.

I think the whiny fans are more of the problem! LNC sucks, LNC is too far from campus, Sampson's teams are boring, announcer sucks, what's wrong with attendance, blah, blah, blah!!!

The announcers were not much better. I learned a lot about the histories of the teams, players, coaches, etc, etc but not a lot about the game. Minutes would pass without either of them referring to the action on the floor.

And Soonerbounce, we are trying to get people to come to games. Irritating the **** out of people for two hours does not encourage repeat business from casual OU fans. Unfortunately, diehards are forced to listen to that ass clown game after game whether we like it or not.

So, rather than gripe at people that actually attend the game, you could help us find one person that thinks he does a good job and does not find him the least bit annoying. Good luck!

I think OU fans can come up with some of the lamest excuses for not attending or being unhappy with a basketball game. Amazing!

I'm too far away to attend games but I always turn the sound down when the OU teams are introduced and at every timeout. I really dislike pa announcers who elongate thier words and scream. This guy is very annoying.
