They're Sooners

It is, indeed, a troll post.

As have most of her/his posts.

Seems like those scouting services had both rated fairly highly. Seems like the U-16 USA team liked both, having given them three gold medals between them. But, what do they know?

No need to troll......i scout the girls, not just in Texas but i actually travel around the country to scout these girls. I ended up in you all forum on accident. I was reading the football board one day and saw that it was a girls basketball section. My nephew played for Oklahoma and a good friend of mine son played for them last year.

Sorry that you feel my 5 years our watching her is considered a troll. I see this as my opinion from my countless hours of watching her play games and watching her practice. Speaking of that, i have NEVER seen her complete a full practice. This is what leads me to say she doesn't love the game.

From reading your post......you have admittedly said you have only watched 2 complete games to where as i have watched close to 5 years of games and practices. Ooh yea by the way, she does not have a trainer outside of the practice for school and AAU.

As far as scouting services goes.....they have and can be wrong. Just look how wrong they were about Nina Davis (52 overall), but we can agree on numbers don't lie. How often are they or what is the percentages that they are wrong? A lot of kids start out high on the list when they are young but they do not continue to develop. I feel they dropped Ana to for down but i do agree with dropping Dungee where she is and Nancy is about right.

Last thing i will say is....don't get caught up in who makes USA. Neither of those 2 played meaningful minutes.....so understand the best do not always make that team. Just look at the U16 team that brought home bronze this past summer. 5 kids who didn't make it probably were the best 5 i saw at the camp.

+1. Love your honesty. I have said before that USA Trials when you are young, are all about the hype. I could name a ton of players in the past and present who did not make it or did not even attend. I have only seen Nancy play 1 or 2 times and the only thing that really impressed me is that she's Tall(of course) and can be a defensive threat. Did not really see any post moves against someone her calliber or size. A lot of Jumpshots tho.

Very good points! I think you know your stuff, and SoonerNorm was right too. It will take Nancy two years to really help. She can help defensively right away but not going to change the game. Her biggest challenge will be heart and staying healthy. Great kid though---so I give her a chance for sure.

Great post! Some of us want honest opinions and that's what you seem to provide. We don't want it sugar-coated.

I pay attention to what the rankings are but I pay closer attention as to which which schools offer a player and which ones don't.

Actually, the original post indicating that you were a troll was deleted. I concurred. I'm sorry, but I don't buy your expertise. It always seems to be that anyone who has committed or played for OU is somewhat overrated. As yet, I haven't seen your opinion on some highly-overrated recruits garnered by other schools in the area. But, you have come on this board several times to berate an OU recruit. You seem to wish to discredit anything that supports the validity of those recruits.

Meanwhile, you have made some comments that are obviously false, such as the comment last time that in the last three minutes of a game with Mulkey on the court, they went from fifteen points up to a fifteen point loss---i.e., thirty more points scored by the opposition in three minutes. Want to try again?

You also indicated that she stood at the three point line, a complete fabrication.

I am not only dismissive of any objective expertise that you have, I am, and always have been, ashamed of those who are so willing to accept someone who discredits our players on this board. It is one thing for you to put forward your obvious bias. It is quite another for others who are supposedly OU supporters to accept anything like this as being honestly objective.

I suggest that the original user of the name troll was correct, and I invite you to share your opinions elsewhere.

I originally posted that skilledserv made a troll post. “I guess all the scouting services are wrong about Mulkey and dungee” came off as a big over the top to me. Mulkey and Dungee have both won at every high school level. Both kids have USAB gold, State champs, and AAU titles. Skilledserv you can discredit both girls if you want to but I’m not buying it. Now no you’re not the 1st person to say Mulkey is a project , A great basketball mind here in the bay area even said she needs a lot of work, but at 6’9 she has a chance to be special, now rather Sherri can get her to where she needs to be is the real question here.
If you think USAB isn’t that big a deal then think again, just look at Uconn just about all their kids have a gold medal. Nina Davis was underrated but at 5’10 with no real shot outside of 3 feet from the basket she’s going to have a hard time sticking in the WNBA. She has a year to improve still but I’m sure Kim cares more about winning then Davis sticking in the WNBA.

Well, I've read every post in this thread…and I'm still glad we got Nancy. Look for her to have a great career at OU.

Might want to revisit that statement. "I was reading the football board....and saw it was a girls basketball section"

What football board? This is called "OUHoops" Certainly not a football board.

Better try that again.

Of the 3 commitments that we have, the player that I believe who will have the most impact is Llanusa. She is a really good athlete. I was told by a family friend that Ana does not like to lift weights so she doesn't. I'm sure that will change when she gets to OU. She needs to improve her ball handling and outside shot so I won't be surprised if she is in 2nd year before she really comes into her own but I can foresee her being really good at some point because of her natural ability. One thing you can't teach is speed and athleticism.

Several missteps give away the fact that this is, by any measure, a troll.

I don't know why, but something in the posts screams "Some tall girl is playing in front of my daughter (niece, granddaughter, family friend, sister) or someone else and I think that is B.S." So I will find a message board to go complain and tell everyone that she isn't that great, she is lazy, or that she is not skilled.

First and foremost she is 6'9"......you don't find that in women's basketball.....period.

Second, she is not a finished product and may need work but, she is 6'9".

Third, She isn't an "unskilled" 6'9"...she simply needs some work to refine that skill.

Fourth, the fact that you tell everyone that you "travel the country" to see all these great players play and to "scout" them, without any real identification about who you are or what you ACTUALLY do, tells me that you are LIKELY full of sh*t. You are LIKELY a parent, who follows their daughter around and tell people that you are "scouting" players.

In all my years of coaching (19 years to be exact) I can likely count on one hand all the people like you who are ACTUALLY scouts or even have an ounce of actual knowledge in scouting. Most are people who never even played, or played junior high or rec, and have a kid who plays and you think it qualifies you as an "expert". If you were truly a scout, you wouldn't waste your time coming on here to be unprofessional enough to degrade an athlete to a message board for no reason. If you actually ARE a scout, you should be ashamed of yourself for actually getting into a tit for tat argument with people, while you bad mouth a player to fans of the team she signed with.

What do you actually gain from it? The ONLY reason you would do it is you have an iron in the fire. A personal beef, if you will, with a coach, etc so you feel the need to take it out on the kid.

and your "the best five kids at the USA camp didn't even make the team were the best 5 I saw at the camp" is a huge red flag for me. You try to put yourself in the actual place and make yourself seem more knowledgeable than the actual PROFESSIONALS who chose the team. Yea.....I'm sure that makes you more believable to the general public. One was likely your daughter or relative.

Thanks for posting though.

While I agree she is tall and has some skills, I don't understand why you would get so angry just because someone disagrees with you. Last I checked we still have freedom of speech in this country and on this board.

Why come on an OU board to insult an OU player? Take it elsewhere.

I need that clapping hands emoticon!

The ignore button is still available and that should resolve the problem.

I don't understand why you would even slightly defend this guy/gal?

Seriously, I'm not angry......I'm just stating the obvious....AND executing MY freedom of speech. Thanks for your concern Norm.
