Just hit me that this team is a lot more like a rec team than a college team.

1.) Don't play defense - giving up almost 75 a game

2.) Players play for themselves. The I have to get mine approach

3.) You never who is going to show up. I don't mean show up as in points, rebounds...I mean physically be at the game. Note Big O and Warren's absence

Any others you guys can think of?

I actually think the moderators do a great job allowing you to speak your opinion to a certain point...I have had my fare sare of negative comments from if capel doesnt turn it around next year he needs to be on the hot seat...to being so frustrated at willie then here lately with all of his injuries hoping he comes back next season to redeem himself..
I am not sure what you said to get banned twice, but it sure wasnt just for negative opinions because there are lots of us that do that....

That's a crock and both of you guys know it! This board has been overrun with negativity the past few weeks, and some of it is understandable. The admins and mods have allowed open discussion on a number of topics, with very few edits or deletes, except when a post was completely over the top.

What we won't allow are personal attacks on players or coaches, or anything outside of board rules that everyone, especially two posters who have been here from the get go, should be familiar with by now. If you're not happy here, no one is forcing you to stay.

I hate to sound like a ass-kisser, but I don't think that the admins have been unfair at all. If anything, some posters (not one in particular) have made baseless critical remarks about our team, and have been asked to back their criticism up. So, please don't act like a victim.

The mods and admins do a great job here.

The problem is that there is a difference between being critical/negative and being insulting.

You have guys on this team who have not shown the work ethic, desire, love of their school, etc. that would all love them to show. There are also players on this team who love OU, love being Sooners, and who have worked their butts off this year.

I realize that perhaps this thread was somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but it is still insulting to the guys who have worked hard, continue to work hard, and who love OU as much or more than we do.

I see posts like "no one on this team cares" or "no one works" or "this team is lazy", and I think about TMG playing through cramps against texas, or Cade playing sick against mizzou, or Crocker playing through his ankle and rib injuries. Even still, when those guys have bad games, I see no problem with people saying "Cade couldn't hit any thing" or "TMG is being too impatient". Those things are far different from "Cade is terrible" or "TMG should just stop shooting, he's awful". I know those aren't direct quotes, but things like that get tossed around on this board all the time, and it not only gets exhausting, but it degrades this website.

Those are the kind of tasteless comments that I believe we could do without. Who are you – or anyone else, for that matter – to imply that the 13-16 record is solely the fault of OU's coaching staff? I guess you or tksooner could have coached the Sooners to a 29-0 mark?

It's easy to make ridiculous statements like the one quoted above. But, of course, there's no way in hades to prove such a statement false. So I guess the insults will just keep coming.

So there's no possible middle ground? No OU team should ever be this bad. We get too much talent and have been too good for too long for that to happen. Jeff Capel would tell you he's doing a bad job this year although I think the only blame he really gets is that he put a bad group of guys together.

It's fair Nick, to say that Capel has done a poor job this season. But that's entirely different from making reference to "our 13-16 coaching staff," which implies Capel is incapable of producing anything but a losing basketball team. That's a slur, not just on Capel, but on the entire program. There are much better and more tasteful ways of criticizing the coach than slurring him on a message board.
