This one's on Kruger

First of all, Capel inherited some decent players compared to what he left for Kruger, so you can't compare the years. What I have been disappointed in his defense. He was supposedly known for his defense, but yet every year I don't see any improvement.
With the team he has this year and next year, I think the fans deserve improvement and that means to me tying or winning the conference and winning at least 2 games in the playoffs. A long way to go! Possibly, maybe not. I don't think we could have a better coach, but it is time for him to show improvement. No excuses! I really think he was hired because he was such a nice guy and he is never going to get OU into any trouble. But eventually, we need to expect more. And maybe, we will find out in the Bahamas. Go Sooners!!!!

For me this always happens when the team gets a lead and then starts to slow down and not be agressive and runs the clock.

the poor defense cost us the game, they could score at will inside

A valid point. With Thomas eligable, there is no excuse for the other team getting easy buckets or offensive boards inside. In the past we had to "ole" defend to avoid foul trouble.

I'm not an X's and O's guy, so maybe someone can explain to me: How did they manage so many open drives to the basket, and how is it we pull that off so much less often?

Ucla clawed back into the game at the same time creighton did, getting up by 8 points ... With the same sub patterns. We pulled it out though.

How did the substitutions look today?

I'm not an advocate of this thread, but there weren't many subs in 2nd half. But their zone slowed down the game and it worked. Khadeem needs more minutes than CJ Cole IMO though.

You're stretching a point to support your argument. UCLA was never "out" of the game in the same way that Creighton was. Yes, they went on a little run, but this was a game of runs, of which the run you're talking abuot was just one.

Let me guess: the coach gets all the blame after a loss but no credit after a win. :facepalm

The guy who made the second round in his 2nd season and the elite 8 in his 3rd? I don't recall him choking up leads to mid majors. I recall him swinging for the fences and landing some questionable character players who imploded. But on game day. He was way better than Kruger.

Typical homer response. How many double digit leads has Kruger teams blown in the 2nd half over his tenure? 15-20? It's a big number. He gets schooled on adjustments all the time.

I was thinking the guy that had three losing seasons, a losing Big XII record and couldn't win the Big XIi with Blake Griffin
