Tiny Gallon Announces Return

Is a trip to San Francisco in this guys future for this summer? Sure would be nice to see him get trimmer and quicker over the break.

And isn't that workout regimen also paired with a big man's camp? Tiny needs some work on the block too.

I just dont see how in any scenario that tiny is not improved next year...I think he knows what he needs to work on and will be much improved. If he becomes slightly more athletic, slightly more in shape, and slighty tougher I see no reason why he cant be a lottery pick

Would love to see him care more about defense (he has started to hint about this) and dominate the boards. The points will come. He is extremely gifted when it comes to his hands and his athleticism for his size. Improving on the little things could make him great.

Why are we talking about his basketball skills? Those weren't the biggest problem. Absolutely he'll be a better "player" next year. No doubt about that. The only "basketball skill" I worry about is his defense. Not sure that SF training is what he needs. It worked for Blake, but he was already in pretty good shape. Tiny just needs to be in good basketball shape. He'll never look like Blake, or have that kind of athleticism, and that is fine. Tiny should play hoops all summer. Find good pick up games where ever he is going to be. Find some NBA guys to work out with, and just play basketball. Run up and down the court. Run to the block, not the 3 point line. That will benefit Tiny as much as anything.

The thing that MUST change, though, is his attitude. The lack of hustle. The pouting. The hanging out on the perimeter. The not posting up hard b/c he's mad, or upset, or whatever. If that stuff changes, he has a chance to be pretty good next year.

I would love for Tiny to watch hours of Glen Davis tape. And drop 25 pounds in the off-season.

I'm not so sure this is good just like with Willie, because if the chemistry issues this year with the current roster, I don't see one offseason changing it that much.

My hunch is, you'll be wrong on TINY again. Guy definately stepped it up later in the season. Hit a wall, Freshmen will do that, espescially after all of the work he clearly put in during the pre-season.

Sometime we forget that these guys don't get in until late June, Tiny has been at OU a grand total of about eight months. Eight months! Same with TMG, Fitz., and Pledger. Oh, and in additon to playing basketball, they are expected to get to practices and "gasp", go to class.

Think I'll go with the upside on Tiny with this one.

Okay Willie Warren is probably coming back. From things he's said it looks like he'll be backs. Will having the same team with the same chemistry issues really mean a great year next year? I'm really cautious to think that. Talent only gets you so far.

Chemistry issues are often a factor of immaturity. As people mature, they have fewer chemistry issues. Hopefully, these guys will learn from their mistakes.

He did step it up, now he just needs to learn not to foul. Most of his fouls were because he was either lazy on defense or lazy rebounding. Hopefully he can figure this out, too.

Exactly! Maturity and learning from ones mistakes can go a long way toward repairing relationships and chemistry issues. That's true of a work environment, marriage, team sports and life in general.

Judging by what Tiny said, he seems to get it now. We can't be sure about the others. But I think we can assume (maybe hope) that a year of growing up and discovering the hard way that basketball is a team sport, will cure many of the problems we saw this season.
