TMG must be thinking oops!

Why is it so hard for you people to understand he knew what he was doing...

Sure at one point he probably thought he would get drafted but reguardless if he was or not he didnt want to be at OU or any other University...

Get over it...

Hope he does well and makes a lot of money overseas...

honestly, i think he should have done what Brandon Jennings Did and not gone to College at all and start in Europe

At every point he thought he was going to the NBA. Until he wasn't invited to participate in the workouts.

Unless he was the most delusional kid on the planet, he had to know that he wouldn't be getting drafted last night. He also has to know that he won't catch on with an NBA team and that his future is in Europe. Nothing wrong with making €150,000 a year to play basketball and living in a beautiful city like Rome, Paris, or Barcelona.

All that being said, I'm pretty satisfied that Mason-Griffin wasn't drafted because he was a malignancy within our squad last year. For most of the season, people thought Willie and Tiny were the bad guys. However, when the facts finally came to light, our fans began to realize that Mason-Griffin was a real cancer.

He is a young man who didn't want to be a student and wanted to play in the NBA. You don't know what he was thinking, which is a theme I see in a lot of your posts. You think you know so much, but the thing you don't know, is how little you actually know.

He is a kid and he made some decisions not many people think were wise. To get on a message board and trumpet it gleefully, as you have done with this thread, is unnecessary, childish and immature. Additionally, it is simply mean, and does nothing to promote OU Basketball.

:ed If you take posting my opinion on an opinionated message board as ^^^^, then that's ok with me.

i've seen a fair bit of spanish acb bball over the last few years, and there's no way tmg is going to go there. he might get signed to play on one of the developmental teams, but he isn't close to playing at the level needed to make a senior acb team.

i don't believe the italian and french leagues are quite as competitive, but i'm still not sure he would be considered for either country's a league.

also, salaries in europe have been trending down for the last few years.

Honestly, anyone who takes pleasure in the poor life decisions of a 19 or 20 year old kid needs to take a long look in the mirror and analyze their priorities in life. Some of the posts over the last 24 hours have been disgusting. With regards to all three players.

How much are the players making now?

You can still make a good living in the second and third tier Euro leagues. Just ask AJ about the Swiss league.

it's highly variable, but going down across the board. especially on the high end, the greeks and russians were paying a ton of money a couple of years back, building teams to compete with the western european teams. they've cut back.

just as a ballpark (extrapolating based off a few salaries that i've heard), maybe 75-500k for a good w. european league (a couple years back, more like up to a million). a few stars still make considerably more. second tier leagues maybe 50-250k. third tier leagues travel money-75k.

some of the south american, asian & middle eastern teams pay pretty well too.

Sasha Kaun and Keith Langford both make a $1 million per year in Russia.
And I don't think anyone would have predicted them as great future pro players out of college.
