Trae Young Announcement Notable Tweets

Are Spangs and Woodard even among the 30 greatest OU basketball players ever? I mean if you did a first, second, third, and honorable mention all time OU team, those guys wouldn't sniff it. That's all I'm saying.

Woodard ranks 14th all-time in scoring for OU and fifth in assists, and Spangler ranks 40th in scoring and fourth all-time in rebounds (despite having played just three seasons at OU).

Top 30? I'd say they both belong.

In no particular order:

Najera
Minor
Grant
Heard
Bookout
Gray
Brewer
McGhee

Barnett
Cousins
Crocker
Q. White

There. That's 25 off the top of my head that are better than both those guys. Give me a little more time and I'll come up with the other five.

Anthony Bowie, Ricky Grace, Tim McCalister, Ro Osby, and Terry Stotts. Boom, there's your other five.

on a day like this, people are really upset about whom is shown on a video?

The video was about Oklahoma kids who signed with OU.

Yes, I understand, but the video didn't show all the Oklahoma kids who signed with OU. It highlighted a few notable Oklahoma kids who made it here and I thought it was peculiar to include Woodard and Spangler in a video that included some all time greats. I thought it diluted the video. That's like making a video calling OU "Running Back U" and showing clips of Billy Sims, Adrian Peterson, DeMarco Murray, Steve Owens, and Mossis Madu. Yes, Madu played RB at OU, but does he really fit in with the tone of the vid?

If I apologize, can we just let this die? I really didn't mean to start anything.

Bookout averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds per game. Spangler averaged 10/9.

Woodard averaged 12 points, 4 assists and 2 turnovers per game. Crocker averaged 10/2/2.

So there are your two slots for Woodard and Spangler.

Really? You're comparing Woodard and Spangler to Mossis Madu? Don't apologize to us -- apologize to Woodard and Spangler. You are seriously shortchanging them.

Mossis Madu played for a couple seasons in the NFL. Woodard and Spangler won't play in the NBA. I think you're shortchanging Madu. Ok, now I'm done.

You guys forgot Ebi Ere. The 2002 team won't get to the Final Four without the deadly shooting of Ebi Ere. That is what next year team need,s a SF like Ebi Ere who shoot the 3 consistently. Heck that is what Thunder lack right now, a SF position that can constantly make 3's.

Great video! While I hope no one is seriously complaining on a day like today who was included / excluded, I did notice one glaring omission. Wasn't Ryan Minor a local product? Again, not complaining...just curious.

guys who dont get picked up by the NFL have few options. Guys who dont get picked by the NBA play all over the world.

Ya.. except... The video isn't about pro careers...

Crocker and Quannis White had more impact than Spangler or Woodard? I disagree. If anything they are all about the same. I would also say Spangler had more impact than Bookout. I liked Kevin and am glad he came but Spangler was a better rebounder and as good a scorer.

Also, Taylor Griffin averaged 7 points and and 6 rebounds to Spangler's 10/9. I liked Taylor and am not knocking him, but I'd take Spangler over him for my top 30.
