Again, when you have 6 scholarships open and only 9 players, you had better get some players. What happens if someone gets injured? I can live with 12-13 but less than that playing in the physical SEC, you will have a major problem.
OU has NEVER had 4 Mcdonalds all americans playing together at 1 time like they will next year. Oh wait, they never had 3 either.
Gone are the days of keeping 13-15 kids happy in the portal era. Disappointing we didn't get Kneepkens, but there are still players in the portal. Last year we had a bunch of unhappy kids due to playing time.

Yeah, but 9 is a travesty, and recipe for disaster. Even 11, when those 11 may not all be SEC-quality, is a bad look. Shows kids that you can't build a roster, so why the heck would they want to go there and mire in mediocrity.
OU will be hard-pressed to keep Chavez next year. SC, LSU, other schools not afraid to spend money in ways OU cannot (or just doesn't) will tamper like crazy.

I'll go with this (below)...pending more additions.
I think Zya ends up as the 6th (wo)man. I also think it's trending towards OU landing a 4/PF.
There's always fluidity and it's based on additions, of course.
Speaking of Zya, she followed Mwenentanda yesterday evening (Thursday).
I love the idea of Emely Rodriguez. The foundation would quickly become Chavez + Emely + building around them (post-Beers/Payton). Emely would slide right into Skylar's spot/role. Anyway, it's weird that there is no one following Emely though. Doesn't mean she's not being recruited but certainly a little odd.

whats your prediction for the team this year Jdizzle? Are you thinking our #8 preseason ranking is about right? Are you thinking us finishing #11 in the country was bad last year? just curious

i think we just need 2 players: a backup center with some eligibility that can score behind Beers & a guard that and shoot, pref with some length. If we only get 2 players out of the portal I think these 2 positions should be a priority. Goodness, I hope we hear something sooner rather than later.
I'd say top 15. They will be ranked high because they got the top player in high school, but the roster is maybe top 20. Not deep, at all. One quality big, no proven 4s.
Could be a long season if the portal doesn't bear more fruit.
Let’s see where we are in June before we go all doom and gloom. I think we’ll bring in at least two more players. I think Coach Jennie has proven to be a good recruiter. She knows they have a chance to move the program up another level.

She would be a nice puckup. I watched her against Tennessee and she did good. She loves to run and score which fits perfect in Jennie’s system.

Also Claire Johnson 5’9 is crazy. She looks a bit taller then 5’9. She’s a good 5’11 or 6ft.
