Transfer Portal 2025

Got to have the $$$, maybe OU spent all their funds on one player. I'm no basketball expert but from I saw
from Chavez she looks very slow, maybe slower than what OU has now.

She is elite, so I vehemently disagree with you on your criticism of her. But I agree that OU used their war chest on her, and has no funds left to use in the Portal. They were flat out out-bid by UCLA on one transfer, and have gotten no other visits. Agents must know OU is broke.

Well, I don’t know the reasons for our portal losses. But, i think one reason might be that we only have one open spot in the starting lineup. It might also be the case that we started late due to unexpected losses of scott and johnson. Just guesses though. I don’t know

I doubt anyone thought Landry Allen would go to over to Southwestern Oklahoma State. OU is really sitting pretty if those three stay (Scott, Johnson, and Allen) at home. We would still have 3 scholarships left. OU could have stood solid at 12 on the roster without any worries. I understand why Reyna Scott hit the portal but the other two does not make any sense.

Per NIL, while I don’t believe OU comes to the table with the biggest bag in any case, all signs do point to us being competitive in the marketplace and I find it hard to believe that they would mismanage their whole budget on just 1 player, who we didn’t even give asking price for, you ask different people about the Chavez recruitment/nil you’ll get different stories everytime😂

Regardless, I recently saw where Cori Close & UCLA WBB are in the process of adding a general manager position to their program to tackle nil/recruiting. Something more and more programs will start adding and I think Oklahoma WBB should definitely follow suit

I know we have Courtney Harris, but a General Manager whose sole focus is NIL/Recruitment would be very beneficial.

We could look at our former alumni Danielle Robinson, Courtney Paris, Abi Olajuwon who’ve all spent years in professional women’s basketball or Dan Hughes & Latricia Tramell friends of the program who’ve spent decades in the WNBA and if they have no interest I’m sure they have a contact list full of people in the women’s basketball world

I just laugh when yall continue to say OU use all of their money on 1 player… Yall clearly have no clue how NIL money works. And if you watched Jennie Presser, she clearly says they did not give her the money she was asking for. Not even close. But yall go off.

Exactly, I've heard and read several places that say OU wasn't even the highest bidder. People just say that because it's consolation that their school lost out to what they would consider a lesser program so naturally to them at all has to be about money. Couldn't possibly be that she just preferred the coach and style of play to their program.

I am getting a little impatient that we are not adding any portal players. Like at all. I wonder in the years that we've added transfers what the latest addition was? I want to say Joens was added in late May a few years back.. the late additions are usually never the top targets though.

Has the girl from Texas landed anywhere? Phelia, I think is her last name. She averaged 19 at Michigan. Redshirted at UT, because of an eye injury. Might be worth a look.

I agree. Im getting a little impatient as well. I do think we are after a couple but no clue who will it be. I do not mind having Ndjakalenga and Emely here. But I truly wanted us to pickup a true post players out of the portal and I don’t even know if there is any true post players left in the portal tbh.

One of the dumbest things I’ve ever read on a message board.
LOL. I agree on the "dumb" part, Coach. But you're not paying close enough attention. The post you're referring to would be lucky to sneak it's way into the Top 10 dumbest all-time on this message board.

This week, May 5th-11th is the recruiting shutdown window, so probably another dry week for any news

BUT

Emely Rodriguez has visits scheduled with Iowa/Indiana next week and at this time has no visit scheduled with Oklahoma

Not fun.

Georgia Wooley out of Syracuse would be a great guard to grab. She's one of the only ones left that I see that played in a P4 conference and averaged double figures. Her and Chantae Embry out of SMU, but would she want to come back to Norman?? Heckel is a great guard in the portal from USC, however I doubt she's interested in OU, as she's visiting UConn and some other major programs from what I've read. I really don't know anyone else besides the two Texas guards and the UCF guard. Seems like it just might be what it is, and we have to hope and pray our returnees really improve and stay healthy and our young kids are ready to go ASAP and stay healthy. If nothing is added I'd have to say this could be an epic fail for JB, probably the first one of her tenure here. Had a lot of momentum after making a S16 again and getting the #1 overall player out of high school.

Hoping some news is coming soon.
