No, our needs are more backup and practice players. We are one player away from a solid two deep. The three women that transferred out did so because of playing time. They weren’t going to get much. That’s why we aren’t getting a lot of looks in the portal. We do need backups, I think we need a 3, 4, and a 4/5. We’re good on guards. I think we will have that by the end of summer. Likely grad transfers. The latest top 20 I saw still had us as #8 and it was taking into account the recent transfers. Our core is strong.

SF: Sahara Williams
PF: Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda
C: Raegan Beers

Now let’s hope we can land this one because that’s a very solid group then we can look to add 2-3 for depth/insurance purposes

I’m just wary of every day that goes by and we still haven’t heard anything, I know skims said it seems like we’re in the lead but I also know VANDY & Notre Dame are swirling around as well soo *fingers crossed* *knocking on wood*

Not sure we ever truly led for her. I think OU and UCLA were ahead together and we lost out at the end of the process

well, hoping to hear something soon. I would feel so much better about this team knowing we have some more bodies with experience on the bench, regardless of who it is, going into next season. going into a unpredictable, incredibly physical SEC conference with only 9 players on a roster is a bit like playing Russian roulette, IMO, and I've got to think JB & staff aren't willing to jeopardize an entire seasons' success because of a lack in depth on account of mismanagement of recruiting in the portal.

I got an update email from OU WBB today that mentioned Sahara playing for USA basketball and also had this quote

“We are so excited to be closer and closer to sharing with you all the new additions to our squad. The love that you all have for our program is known, and we know you all have been very curious regarding next year’s team.”

Keep the faith. Portal additions are coming…Jennie knows a roster of 9 isn’t enough.

I always thought Lon mishandled that situation. From what I read, McGusty caused a lot of the problems. I'm sure Trae was part of the problem but it seemed that Lon didn't lay the law down and there wasn't a strong upperclass leader on the team either. Contrast it with this year. The upper classmen took Fears under their wing and there didn't seem to be any problems.

It could also be hot air. I'm sure there are some players that think they won't get as many minutes as they would like with Chavez being here. That's not her fault.

I left the other board because they never had anything positive to say about anything. They didn’t hear any rumors. They thought it up in their own negativity clouded mind and said “rumors” to give it some kind of credibility.

Doesn’t make sense why other players wouldn’t want to play with Ailiyah. Her high school teammates evidently wanted to play with her as they won a Texas state championship and she couldn’t have done that by herself. Also, in the McD’s all-American game she was the only one I saw passing the ball to other players as almost every other player shot the ball as soon as they touched the ball and never looked for a teammate who might have had a better shot.
