Transfer Portal 2025

Looking through names in the portal, here a few big guys that pop out as potential budget options in the front court.

Jacobe Coles - Grand Canyon, from Denton and played at TCU originally

Arrinten Page - Cincy

Jalen Breath - UNC Greensboro, from OKC

Chris Hodges - Wisconsin

Achor Achor - Kansas State, was definitely a target last cycle

Josh Gray - Missouri

Christian Reeves - Clemson, OU was reportedly interested last portal cycle

Jarrell Colbert - SMU - from Houston

Dorian Onwucheckwa - Ga. Tech, from Desoto

No idea of the status of any of the above’s recruitments, or if OU is even involved, but they’re available.

Then there’s guys with obvious connections like Onyenso, Collins, Traore, etc. but they may not come cheap.

Breath is already committed to Ohio. He would have been a backup at best. Colbert has Oklahoma ties. He’d be a backup at best as well.

We just need an insurance policy at the 5. Rodgers should be good for 5-10 minutes a game, we can go small for 5-10 minutes a game and be okay (especially if any of Holst, Blair, or Atak are serviceable for a few minutes). Just need someone who can backup Wague when he fouls out, etc.

Atak: Just watched him one time (scrimmage last fall). Very thin. Very skilled. Between sessions, he would shoot 3s. In one session he made 9 of 10. I would take he or dayton in a team game of horse. Crazy long. So, for me, he is an interesting player. Don’t know what he will give us. Who knows. But he is tall and skilled, so maybe

On the center options, who knew there were this many guys on the planet over 6’10. It is crazy to curse thru the portal. Makes you wonder how we have gone 30 years without decent bigs. There are millions of them

I agree, someone else said it too. I flip around all these obscure channels during the college basketball season and see literally tons of bigs on these small school teams that are much better than anything we have. It's mind blowing.
