Puts the rumored $4.5 million into perspective.![]()
Insider intel: College coaches forecast the 2025 Transfer Portal’s biggest spenders
On3's Jamie Shaw spoke with coaches across power conferences to discuss who they expect to be the biggest spenders in the Transfer Portal.www.on3.com
Nothing is ever confirmed in the portal/NIL era, I’m afraid.I wonder if young Mr. Craft has confirmed with Miami of Ohio that the option of returning is indeed still open to him.
Some of the programs this regime gets compared to most - “Texas Tech, Ohio State, and Kansas State come to mind. I’ve heard they’ll all be between $8 and $10 million overall.”![]()

Articles like this really make me wanna puke. I’m all for the kids getting paid, but with the current set-up, your simply creating a situation where some players are getting paid way over their value…simply because some schools have stupid $ to throw at NIL budgets. $8-$10MM??? Yeah, replacing Porter will cure all of our problems! Some of the programs this regime gets compared to most - “Texas Tech, Ohio State, and Kansas State come to mind. If he hasn't discussed it with the MofO folks, he's exhibiting a high degree of entitlement, assuming they'll keep his seat warm as he goes shopping for a bigger payday.Nothing is ever confirmed in the portal/NIL era, I’m afraid.
but they are the ones that make all of the money .. which is going to be shared with the players .. (and very soon the players will get like 40% of the revenue) ..Or maybe the problem is that football and basketball (not just at OU, but across the board) have become bottomless money pits.
But the money chase never ends. It's never enough. And so the focus becomes (has become) almost entirely on money. If someone did a study on how often the topic of money arises in collegiate sports discussions on TV, sports talk radio and the print media today and, say, 20 years ago, the difference would be, I suspect, quite stark. Money has always mattered, of course; it does in every endeavor. But not like it does today. Now some fans--fans, not admins--judge the value of an individual college sports program by how much money it makes. That's a relatively recent development and a telling one.but they are the ones that make all of the money .. which is going to be shared with the players .. the days of colleges taking advantage of football and basketball players is close to over they are actually starting to get what they are worth ..But the money chase never ends. It's never enough. I haven't locked into portal season just yet because I'm not certain on the staff. Moser wants out, will he get his wish?
Feels like a waste of time until we know what shakes out in that regard.
Or, maybe, they're preparing for an NCAA Tournament game. As we all should be instead of talking about who should and shouldn't be our coach next year. Not a ton of staff movement on social media; they may be viewing it similarly.
