Anyone seen payne play? How would you describe ? Compared to wague, better, worse or about the same?

Honestly better than I expected. It'd be nice to have a big man who can actually finish a play with a dunk. Maybe.

Watching video Payne looks a little more coordinated than Wague...and a little more aggressive. But they do play a little similar.

With Reid, our portal class will land in the top 10. Probably mid-30s for our high school class. Add Nwankwo and Jones as newcomers who haven't played for OU yet, and it's a really good group of incoming players.

Most sites have our high school class in the 40s, and that’s assuming Blair makes it to campus.

Thanks for your always positive additions to the board. I’ve never put much stock in HS b-ball recruiting rankings, because some sites give value for quantity not quality. If a school has 5 3-star type players committed, they are typically ranked ahead of classes with only 3 players committed, who all may be 4 star type players. Which would you rather have??

But again, thanks for the need to always make someone’s post seem less positive. You are dedicated to your efforts.

BTW, 247 has our HS class ranked 29th. Looks like On3 has us at 40. Those are the two I pay most attention to…so if you avg those two, I believe that’s mid 30’s…although lord knows I struggle with mid teens, so who knows.

Just watched this video…and I agree, maybe he’s better than any of us thought…although it will be a HUGE step up in competition in the SEC. This conference is loaded with athletic bigs, but he could provide valuable minutes at both the 4 & 5 spots for us, which would allow Wague to play more aggressive and not worry as much about fouls.

If we could indeed somehow finish with adding both Reid and Payne…wow, what a total overall recruiting class this would be. Give Porter the resources and he can recruit.

Hes brought down his fouling every single year and increased his pts, rbs, shot %, every year per 40 mins.

I was referring to this. Maybe that 29th includes portal and HS?? When I glanced at it, I initially took it as HS since they seperate out the transfer rank...regardless my point remains the same. Whether it's 38 or 40...does it require calling someone out??

For God’s sake man, I cited a fact. I didn’t “call someone out.” If facts hurt your feelings so much, you might be a bit too sensitive for a message board.

I like our transfer class a lot. I think people here are overrating our high school class. Sorry if that seems so outrageous that it offends you.
