Yeah, Ole Miss scares me some. Beard seems to be persuasive at times...and they have had some $ to play with in the past. I just don't know what our limit is with paying Reid compared to Miss has.

and beard is a way better coach than pm

And, the Rebels have an established track record of overspending

Yeah, I don't think these players are making decisions based on who they feel "the better coach is". $ > any of that crap

i think there's still some consideration given to a coach's system/ability to develop talent.
reid was a 5*....so u know he thinks he'll be in the nba someday....
if the money is close....he has to consider which coach or situation would be best for his pro prospects

Unless I'm mistaken, Chris Beard doesn't have a huge track record of sending guys to the NBA.

i think they both currently have 0 players in the NBA
Yeah, not saying Beard isn't a good coach- he is. But outside the one year with Jarret Culver, there's been more hype than results, IMO.

Especially at Texas, he's had a lot of talent without any real results outside the one deep run with Culver leading the way. Double-digit losses in 7 of 8 years, lost 8 or more conference games 6 of 8 years, and 7 conference losses in one another season. This year's loss in the Sweet 16 was his deepest run since 2019.

Considering the amount of "support" ($$$) he's always had behind him, and the fact he's tied for the 10th highest paid coach at $5M per year, I'm not sure the results matches his reputation as a great coach. A good coach, absolutely... but like Moser, he's made one really good year stretch a long way.

Desmond is 32-34 as a starter (obv not all his fault there). He's insistent on playing the wrong position.

Yeah, if I were a GM anywhere, I'd pass on adding him at that price point. Maybe $1.5-2 million in today's market.

Schools almost have to silently agree to NOT pay these kids anywhere near amounts like that! (I know...I may be in lala land). What started as college kids need to make a little money off of their "N I L" has turned into a BS greed event. IMO, no college kids should be making more than 1/3 of that. I know...I'm about an old, but this is college...not the effin NBA.
