Transfer Portal 2025

No excuses this year.

It’s not 10 million, but they’re spending money over there in the LNC.
Seriously someone unlocked the coffers for both Men's and Women's BBall this off season. Maybe it took a year of being humbled in the SEC but it was worth it if donors (or donor (Hamm)) are going to step up and get OU back to where they need to be competitive in the 2 big Men's sports.

On paper, this is the strongest group in some time:

Starters
All conference PG
All conference and former NCAA Regional MVP SG
Five Star / McDonald's All American SF
15 ppg PF who has improved efficiency every year
Improving 5 man with SEC size / athleticism

Bench
PG who shot 45% from three and 91% from the line last year
Big West Defensive Player of the Year Back-up SG
Juco All American SF
Top 100 Back-up Center
Four star Forward

Atak - project but a great shooter
Holst - project but incredible upside

Is there any chance we add Payne? That would give us the kind of depth we need: 9 players who can play in the SEC + 4 talented younger players vying for minutes.

Lusk says Payne is no longer visiting after the Reid commit. No more NIL $$ left?

I thought they were separate recruits...not tied together

Also from Lusk:

The expectation is that Derrion Reid will be a starter for this team.

Fun recruiting tidbit: I’m told Jeremy Fears — the father of Jeremiah Fears — played a major role in helping convince members of Reid’s camp that Oklahoma was the right choice.

Did he miss on any targets or did he go 4/4?

Either way, it doesn't feel like he had to settle for too many (any?) plan B/C targets.
You can argue that maybe Brown was a plan B guy or one that they probably didn't see coming start of portal. And he may end up the best get.
