Transfer Portal 2025

Seriously someone unlocked the coffers for both Men's and Women's BBall this off season. Maybe it took a year of being humbled in the SEC but it was worth it if donors (or donor (Hamm)) are going to step up and get OU back to where they need to be competitive in the 2 big Men's sports.
Not to burst anyone’s bubbles but Harold Hamm has contributed $0.0 to NIL (for any sport).

I was under the impression that helped get Chavez for Jenny? I guess there was no truth to that?
No Jenny's got someone that does help there with ties back to other places she worked at. Don't remember the name. But not sure if that helped with Chavez. In fact apparently our offer was lower than others for Chavez.

This is probably one of those areas where the AD has to play University politics. Hamm is a huge donor for OU academic and research. Have to be careful about crossing the streams politically, especially where healthcare is involved. If he wanted to / initiated, then sure. But otherwise you take your cues from the President, Board, and Foundation.

I assume we'll pick up one to two portal stragglers who struck out and can be practice depth. One big to replace the Yaya Keita hole in Porter's heart and a combo guard who can handle PG duties from a scout team perspective?

Here's the thing that excites me maybe most: I like our returners, we have a strong portal class, but we also can look forward to Jones and Nwankwo, who got rave reviews ahead of last season.

Throw in that Rogers and Blair are top 100 freshmen and have the talent to grow into contributors and Atak and Holst are black boxes with incredible length -- and it's going to be a lot of fun figuring this team out over 30 games. Lots to talk about going into the season. Who knows what the floor is, but a MUCH higher ceiling than last season.

Ok Portal Moser did work🔥

So Payne’s no longer an option, any idea on who/if we decide to use the remaining spots on?

Gotta be a Center right? Even just a big body who can stand in when Mo is in foul trouble and Kai gets up to speed would be welcome

Nate Oats on Reid

"Derrion’s one of our best positional size, athletic defenders," Alabama head coach Nate Oats said in February. "And he’s done very good jobs on different guys when he’s been healthy. It would be great to have him. It’s hard not getting the reps, and he’s missed maybe 35, 36 percent of our practice reps this year.

“I think he’s going to be a pro. He came in as a McDonald’s All-American, he’s got all the intangibles as far as tough, great attitude, high IQ, he’s athletic. A lot of the stuff the pros are looking for. We really don’t want to hurt his long-term career by rushing something to win a game or two. We’re trying to do what’s right by him.”

I'm guessing the remaining spots are gonna be cheap practice bodies. Probably can't afford much else really.

Suzie Glazer-Burt is her name. She is a HUGE Jennie fan and gave big $$$ to her and her program going back to Drake. Once gave a single $5M gift there.

My ONLY concern, and I think this is legit, is we are counting on quite a few dudes coming off of injuries. We better hope the injury bug is gone and they’re all back to full form.
