Yeah. Aggravates me that our own fanbase ignores such an important sport in the grand scheme. While our fanbase continues to "love" the awful sport known as softball.

I really like collegiate softball but I also fear for its long term viability. Totally agree that the Loves donation should have been used for football or basketball since they actually make a profit.

Softball was fine before NIL hit. Now, there's no reason what so ever to invest in such a sport. There's just not.

Between $2.5 - $3 million for this years roster. Confident it is in that range.

For me it will depend if he acts like an idiot all of the time or just against ou? Also, if you have to break the bank for him, then also no, unless we strike out on everyone and have use it or lose it funds

I agree and obviously like OU bball but can understand why the AD would focus on one revenue (and that’s obviously going to be FB at OU) and maximize the non-revenue ones.

Easier especially for an AD that is not even trying to cultivate mbb donors. I don’t pay particularly close attention to non-rev sports but it’s so much more cost effective given NIL budgets & focus. Maybe that is changing in wbb but if your goal is championships, better bang for one’s buck as long as the FB program is rolling ( it gets rolling again).

Once the dynasty is over, softball will fall back down. OU fans are bandwagon fans. Period.

Did football "fall back down" (for the long term) after Bud left Norman? Did fans stop coming to Memorial Stadium?

If Patty were to retire tomorrow, many of the top coaches in the country would lining up to be her replacement, drawn by the best stadium, the best facilities, the top program of the century (and it's not even close). What makes you so sure things would fall apart?
