Transfer Portal 2025

I miss the days of getting 2 or 3 Top 100 freshman recruits on signing day. Buddy Hields, Dante Bufords, Lattin, those days were exciting. But i'm old fashioned and it's a new world I guess. Happy that there's so much positivity around the bball and the football team getting two transfers today. About time something good happened for OU fans. Hope it translates to the respective seasons!

We got Jeremiah Fears last year. That was pretty exciting.

so really based on nothing but "no one has ever done it and i don't expect these guys to either"...
did u say the same thing about buddy? cousins?
occasionally players are good enough to contribute as freshmen. some like trae/fears/blake....others like buddy/cousins/willy/
it happens.
Dude, it's just my opinion.

Blair is at a likely crowded position. He played against TERRIBLE competition. He's been splitting his time between two sports (I know he isn't the only guy to do this, but still).

I just don't see it with him.

Same for Holst. Tall, lanky, foreign big that has played terrible competition and isn't physical enough to truly play the 5? How many guys like that, unranked by the way, have you seen some in and contribute their first year? Is he better than Atak, or sat all season?

I'm not saying they are doomed for the bench or a transfer to lower level basketball. I'm saying if OU is as good as some of us hope they are, these guys likely won't have a path to meaningful minutes.

I’d take Campbell if it meant we got a slightly better big man, but we really need another shooter, and Campbell is not that.
We've got Brown (40% as a freshman and 37% overall), Pack (40%), Jones (37%), Nwankwo (37% in juco), Forsythe (45%), and potentially Atak (40% in high school) who can all shoot from deep. Would be nice to have another shooter, but not necessary. If Campbell means we get a good 5, I'm all in.

I think we're good on shooting.

Need another bigger guard that can defend. Offense doesn't have to be great, but would prefer somebody that isn't terrible at that end of the court. Campbell is perfect, other than his size. Maybe we just grab him and deal with the fact that we will be smaller. Would still have Jones and Nwankwo with some size at the guard spots.

I think it is safe to say that Campbell's dad has a burner account and definitely wants him in a sooner uniform :ROFLMAO:
He’s tweeted stuff before that stated the same. I like him and would be fine with adding him. I think he’s a better shooter than his last years stats say. He had some hand injuries. He can create and is a great defender who causes TO’s.

He the dude with the 2 broken hands that played through it or whatever someone posted about before?

Can Rasheer Fleming pull out of the draft if he’s not going first round? That guy would put us in the sweet 16 category with what we’ve got. Add another SG and Fleming, and we would be in great shape come post season.

24, 55, and 74 is where The Athletic ranks Brown, Pack, and Davis. Regarding Davis, they write that his shooting is X factor. If he can improve there, they see him as an impact player on a high major team, but if that doesn’t improve, more of a role player.

With Brown, they praise his ability to read and use screens, which they said is key because he isn’t great at creating his own shot in isolation.

With Pack, they mention that he has improved his lead guard skills, but note that he will need work defensively.
