Transfer Portal 2025

Lusk saying that makes me think they are using it as a recruiting pitch. Telling him “your position at the next level is at the 3, we are going to get you there”. Might not be reality, but could be a good pitch.
This is the right pitch. He is a college 4, but in the NBA would be a 3 man. Think of Dorian Finney Smith or De'Andre Hunter.

It also makes sense from a lineup perspective as well. You'll have two small guards in Brown & Pack, but make up for it with height and length 3-5 in Reid, Davis, and Wague. As long as Reid or Davis can guard down one position, they'll be fine.

Coach, I don't remember ever having seen Reid play. If he played against us, I just don't remember it. What is your take on Reid? Is he big and tough enough to help inside? I have seen him listed at 6'8, which would be tall enough, if he really is that tall. I was hoping for an "inside" 5, but would take a tough rugged 4. I suppose anything helps at any position, whether it is just what we want.

And, what are you hearing about our chances with Reid?
Don’t have a %. I think a more expensive 4 man is better than an affordable 5 man that isn’t as good. IMO

Wonder if these late entries and the kids out of eligibility entering the portal might be an opportunity. If the money schools end up filling up their rosters with high priced kids, and there is a court ruling that makes a bunch of kids eligible for another year, maybe we can swoop in and grab one at a bargain due their former team's roster spot having been taken. A little different situation, but having a free scholarship worked out for us to get Fears. A fortuitous court ruling or kid changing his mind on the draft could put a better player in our lap unexpectedly (and maybe at a discounted NIL to boot).

Miles could have been a key contributor off the bench and gotten his share of minutes. It'll be interesting to see if he starts at A&M or ends up playing the same role there that he could have played for OU.

Could be a really good option as a 4th guard. I know it's being said that OU's done at guard, most likely, and I'm not disputing that. I think it's a bad decision, though. What happens if Pack gets injured? or Brown? or even Dayton? Need 4 capable ballhandlers IMO.

Lying to a player is never a good pitch, so I hope that's not the case. May help you get one kid, but will kill your credibility on the recruiting trial. As much as I can't stand Moser as a coach, I don't have any reason to think he would sell a kid a bill of goods.

I have no clue if this kid has the skills to be a three, to be clear. But if he doesn't, don't sell that to him.

It may not be the right thing to do but it happens ALLLLLLLLLL the time. They tell kids what they want to hear. Very common.

I think it is sleepy but alot of these dudes are snake oil salesmen.
