I have a hard time believing we could sign Reid if he wasn’t given the assurance of having the opportunity to start. He’s more talented than Nwankwo.I doubt that Reid is a starter

opportunity sure .... and "talent" sure ... but that is not the same thing as being a better player now ..I have a hard time believing we could sign Reid if he wasn’t given the assurance of having the opportunity to start. He’s more talented than Nwankwo.
I think he is the back up 4he needs to up his 3p game if he wants to start as a guard.
UNC is dropping because they hired a bad coach and took forever to understand the importance of NIL. They just hired a GM for what's supposed to be a blue blood.
NC State hasn't done much since the hire of Will Wade by the way.
I’ve wondered this. I know Reid wants to be a wing, but I just feel he’s better suited as a 4 in our offense. Either way, he’ll play A LOT imo, and I could see times where we play smaller with Davis and Reid as the two forwards.I think he is the back up 4
Bloodbath for playing time? Ill take that! It’s not knotted up yet, but inching closer and closer with Reid
Davis made the Final Four and the championship game already also ..Agree on the UNC token legacy hire, at least Bill Guthridge made the Final Four. Though the Matt Dougherty hire was pretty bad. There is a part of me that doesn't get Wade to NC State. My sister lives in Durham and works at UNC and NC State and Raleigh are seen as big steps down from Duke/UNC/Durham/Chapel Hill. As others on this board suggested at the time, Sankey musta put a big whammo on hiring Wade because he was on that SEC cheat retread track like Houston Nutt, Ed O, Chris Beard, Bruce Pearl etc. Even Rick Barnes was in some of kind of mutually assured destruction moment with Scott Drew. in the old Big XII days.
I'm not surprised UNC was slow to adapt to NIL. Blue blood institutions and big cigars are gonna think "we're Carolina, what we do works". Until it doesn't. I think some of that has been true on the football side of OU sport/administration. Hopefully, we are waking up a little in that regard.
The good thing is, as a perimeter 4 in collage you can show your ability to play the 3 in the NBA. At the end of the day kids need to lean on their strengths and improve their weaknesses to make an impression on NBA scouts. If your a 4 and your strengths are down low. You better kill it at that and work on expanding, if you go away from your strengths so you can be an inefficient college guard you better hope your measurables are ELITE.I’ve wondered this. I’d still lean the starters being:
Brown
Pack
Jones
Davis
Wague
When’s the last time we’ve had a 6’8” guy start on the wing?? Slim Patterson?
If he can guard the 3, he'll be a match-up nightmare on the wing physically.3/4 are the same in todays game.
It’s about who you can guard!
As someone that lived in Raleigh for 31 years your assessment of the area could not be more wrong. Durham is the crime capital of NC. And Chapel Hole is so full of liberals they can’t see straight. A quite entitled bunch UNC is.Agree on the UNC token legacy hire, at least Bill Guthridge made the Final Four. Though the Matt Dougherty hire was pretty bad. Stephon Payne is visiting this week and he would be a backup 4/5 big.Reid sort of sounds like a Jalon Moore type of player. Kind of a tweener between a big wing and small 4. But, I haven't seen him play. In any event, he sounds like a good pickup. Moore was a winning player for us and if we get him, maybe Reid can give us the same type of play. I was sure hoping for another big, but not sure that is in the cards.
Or maybe start over Wague.Stephon Payne is visiting this week and he would be a backup 4/5 big.
As someone that has lived in Durham for over 10 years. I would say this is for sure coming from a person that hasn't visited Durham since 2009.As someone that lived in Raleigh for 31 years your assessment of the area could not be more wrong. Similar offensively. Moore was significantly ahead as a catch and shoot / 3 point threat, but Moore was not agile enough to guard the perimeter effectively. Reid has more defensive upside and overall potential but farther to go offensively.Reid sort of sounds like a Jalon Moore type of player. Kind of a tweener between a big wing and small 4.
