Yet the Tech fan is a scum ball for what he said?
Travis Ford is sorry for (getting caught) swearing
By Eamonn Brennan
Swearing. Profanity. Lewd language. If college basketball coaches didn't have these tools, how would they motivate their players? If unable to combine an f-bomb with a carefully placed insult, how would they leverage the motivational qualities of fear and ridicule to their ultimate advantage? Swearing is as integral to college basketball coaching as rulebook loopholes.
Of course, just like in recruiting, the savviest folks get away with it. The same can not be said of Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford, who was caught calling Obi Muonelo a "f--king idiot" on TV in OSU's game against Kansas on Sunday. Ford called into a radio station yesterday to say how sorry he was that the camera was around when he was in the process of coaching his players like he usually does:
It was "an unfortunate incident, something that I regret, no question," Ford said on WWLS-FM "The Sports Animal." He also said it was "something you can guarantee won't happen again ... "I let the moment get the best of me. I feel very badly about it. That's not me."
