Kruger has done a very average at best job coaching this year...

The switching defense has made us lazy. We are one of the worst blocking out teams. Blocking out is the MOST underrated facet of basketball. And Kruger simply doesnt require effort in that sector..

Offense has been abysmal when we aren't shooting 3s at a record pace, best in the nation. We now all of the sudden have abandoned AK for mcneace after not playing him for 15 Games.. that reeks of desperation.

I would give him a 6 outta 10. I know it sounds crazy because we're still in decent position and have s great record and We've won some big games.. but only when we were stroking from 3. This team is in a tailspin and it's on kruger to stop it.

Scrap the switching D. Demand blockouts and bench those who do not. Have defense practices all week. Make them heated. Get some tustles going.

Offense will come as a result of good defense. There's less demand on shooting lights out every night as a result

I agree with the above statement. Why suddenly abandon AK when everthing was working previously??? McNeace is not physical enough to bang inside and also haven't play any game up until now. What is the logic behind this????

Mcneace has upside... looks JV this year tho

Do you really think banging in practice is going to help? A defensive mentality isn't going to be developed overnight and I don't know if they have the legs to make wholesale changes.

Blocking out and not switching is a start. But in order to play the type of ball of man up and bang requires some solid post play. Something lacking quite a bit this year.

That's you projecting. You have no idea what's gone on in practice (neither do I), but what has AK done in the past few games that makes giving McNeace some minutes so hard to fathom? I don't know how many minutes McNeace got tonight, but it wasn't many and he played with energy, snagged a couple of boards and went 2-for-2 from the field.

McNeace is a tweener and not physical enough to bang inside. If he gained another 20 lbs then yes we should play him. But are you going to throw your season you worked so hard up until now because of upside???

💯💯 agree . The constant switching causes them to be super lazy and they trail way to much which allows easy penetration into the D. If you watch when they hand people off they are rarely jumping to the ball.

I guess I was one that wasn't that big on AK. Kid was big, but his footwork on both off and def was bad. He USUALLY went away from the bucket on his post move...to me it looked like he didn't understand he is 7ft. I just didn't think he looked "smooth" at all.

I know his foot was hurting early, he's only played bball for a handful of years...but he was a huge mismatch being pulled out...but after seeing McNeace get beat...he is to~

Ah well...again, it comes back to decent post play be it rebounding, scoring (or threat of it), passing....need more.

Yup.it makes then play flat footed which is why they get blown off the dribble often.

Also setting solid screens on offense is something we don't do. Bufors is by far the worst. Watch him "screen" next game. Never and contact

I'm not a huge fan either.. hes serviceable for a few minutes..but I'm not a fan of playing him extensively as the back up and now not all and playing a guy that didn't all year..

Ak hasn't played a minute in the past 3 or 4 games. He has shown way more than jamuni has throughout the season though..like blocking shots, low post moves, and free throw shooting. He also has a physical presence which has intimidated teams in the paint.

Jamuni has a chance to be a good player in a couple years but he is awful right now.

I'm sorry but I though mcneace was terrible tonight, especially on defense. He can't guard at all and is a huge liability. He played pretty significant minutest there in the middle of the 2nd half. I think he has upside but he's not ready this year.

I don't see McNeace or AK playing a lot. Get them in there to give Spang and Lattin a blow...but as "bad" as Lattin has been lately, he's one of the better ones. Sub in Buford for a guard...create a mismatch.

2-3 min every 10...but what do I know! lol

AK's +/- shows he's a huge liability. Though McNeace no better.

The truth is...the fab 4 is tired. They have played way to much all year long. We just don't have a bench. Every year we hear about how deep we are but the truth is we haven't had a deep team and this team isn't deep. Chalk that up to bringing in juco players and freshmen that need time to develop and not bringing in freshmen that can make an immediate impact. McGusty is a recruit that would be contributing on this team. He didn't bring anyone in like that for this team. The guys on our bench are going to be good players down the road but this team needed a Shake Milton on our roster and Kruger failed to bring anyone in that has made an impact on our team. When not one recruit in the 2015 class step foot on the floor against Texas Tech...that says it all about his recruiting.

On the flip side: Grandstaff and McGusty are the recruits that will get us to the next level. Especially if we can land Trae Young

What has AK done to deserve playing time? He's big? Mcnease gives more effort and if you aren't apart of the program then you don't know what's going on internally or in the locker room. He may have been passed up for a number of reasons (effort, attitude, class, etc.). We aren't shooting very well, we beat TT 9/10 when we hold them under 70 with this year's team. Shooting slumps and playing slumps happen throughout the year so when we start winning again I'll enjoy reading y'all's "greatest OU team ever" posts again.
