How long does the new coach get to blame his lack of success (If he has trouble) on Capel?

Good question. A few Capel fans were still blaming Sampson five years later. Do you really expect this to be any different? :ez-laugh:

That's true. I'm not big on any coach blaming the previous one for their lack of success.

They, more than anyone, should be aware of what they're signing up for.

IMO that will be decided on what the roster is like next year...

If we lose no one and Osby stays, they should win about 17/18 games next year depending on the non-conference schedule...

I think he has about as much time as Capel did...1 year of not going to the tourney...

In college basketball a program of OU's caliber can be turned around in no time...all it takes is a different coach, and 1 maybe 2 players...

I know we all think this years roster was horrible, but they have some very nice pieces to build around...it is just going to take 1 or 2 guys to change things pretty drastically IMO...I am not sold on Osby being a savior, but he could be a part of the solution as long as he is not counted on being the only guy to change things...they need size, with both of those factors i think they can flirt with 20 wins next year...

That is true...i just really hope he wasnt involved in that...

But from the emails and your points on not really having a good sense of what his subordinates are doing i could see this Tiny thing as much his fault as anyone elses....kind of like that lack of institutional control thing....

That would also fit with what Chewy75 said a week or two ago about the NCAA's investigation playing a role in the decision to fire Jeff. I hope all of that goes away now so we can get on with rebuilding the program into a national contender again.

That's what i'm thinking. From my perspective it'll be more important that the new coach gets up to speed with recruiting the class of 2012 because I can't see us making much of a splash in last few weeks of 2011 recruiting.

Just saw this. Very telling IMO. He just seems to be a bit in over his head.
