TUM TUM decision Thursday at 10am

Crystal Ball says 96% MSU 4% OU. (James Hale was the one pick)

I hate it that places like MSU can come in a few weeks before a decision and change the whole thing. It's kind of like asking your girlfriend to marry you and having her turn around and pick a better looking guy out of the other schmucks at the restaurant.

Yep. I can remember when we could have done that to Mich St.. How things have changed.

He said he and Izzo were a match made in heaven.

Fill me in guys, why can't Krueger and staff recruit? Why didn't he hire a really good recruiter?

Iowa State is going to land a top 10 player in Rashad Vaughn

While I think this is a complete knee-jerk reaction to OU losing out on a highly-rated guy they thought they would get, and no less from an OSU fan, I will be very interested to see how this class shakes out. And beyond that, how they perform on the court, after all that's what matters right? I will say that the staff has had two years to be working on this class so I don't think fairly high expectations are unfair at all... Let's see what happens between now and November...

Sadly.. this has been the deal with Kruger all along. He's a great coach & so/so recruiter.. we'll be good enough to get in the dance yearly but not have the talent to really make deep runs...

No need to jump off a cliff. Hire someone like Butch Pierre? NCAA at some point will tell you why.

Kruger and OU will be just fine. Its now onto the next kid. They know that if you chase big fish, you wont always get them!

LK is was on him for 2 years, if Ullis doesnt eliminate MSU 2 weeks ago, Tum is a sooner. It happens.

MSU is a top 10 program and they gave him the keys to the car. At OU he would have to contend with Woodard who would have a year head-start on him.

Like everyone else, I'm not happy that MSU could come in the last 2 weeks and un-do 2 years of recruiting by the Sooners. It happens.

Tum Tum is obviously a phenomenal prospect and could be a really good college player, and I'm as irked as any OU fan that he got Izzo'd out from under us.

Now, that being said, there are worse recruits to lose out on this year. Probably our deepest position on the roster is combo guard, and it seems like Woodard has a decisive edge on winning the job at point. Lon and Co. would do well to add a quality backup to the "true point" rotation, but at least Tum Tum isn't, like, the last 6'6 swingman with plus scoring ability, or the last HS big with vertical athleticism on the board. Our needs are going to be critical in both areas sooner than ballhandling (barring, knock on wood, injuries and transfers).

Sucks to lose Lourawls, but it ain't the end of the recruiting class, folks.

^ Well said. I almost started a new thread similar. If LK feels they cant a player that can be productive, Guards are what we have the deepest and most exp position.

We can afford, though not recommended, to not take a PG and try to get one next year. I know you cant ever have too many ball handlers but it is what is...!

Perhaps the more pertinent question would be, why can Travis Ford suddenly recruit?

I have my suspicions as to the answer, and a recent series of stories in SI only heightened those suspicions.

And just FYI: It's Kruger. Bad form to hang out on a rival's board and misspell their head coach's name.

I wonder if having the best facilities in the country has something to do with it

The recruits think it makes up for it. Plus our arena is historic

Absolutely! And no name resonates with today's young athletes like that of Henry Iba! He da man!

That doesn't matter to recruits. It's the historic arena they care about. And te cash/prostitutes/drugs of course
