Iowa State really wants him, while Colorado and Creighton have also offered him scholarships. He will be in Ames today through Saturday on his visit, and will probably decide in November.

Tyrus Mcgee (6'2'' 185)
Jayhawk East Freshman of the Year, averaged a team-best 16.6 points and 5.3 rebounds at Cowley. First-Team All-Region VI selection.

The 6-foot-2 freshman was second on the team in field goal percentage (50 percent), and first in free-throw percentage (82.1 percent). He led the team in three pointers made (80), while shooting a team-best 44 percent behind the arc.

He played his best basketball down the stretch. Over the last nine games, McGee averaged 22.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, and shot 57 percent (34-of-60) from three-point range.

good to see kids from OK get there. He wouldnt fit with what OU has with a Frosh and Soph pg, but he'll be a hooper for someone.

Couldnt OU always use a Mike Neal caliber 3pt shooter?

Yeah if he were that type of guy. Pledger fits more of that mode. I like McGee and have seen this kid a ton but i wouldn't compare his shooting prowess to Neal, no matter how much he's improved since HS.

If OU is to add a player this offeseason I think he needs to have some size. Either a true big or a bigger wing. Blair, Newell, Taylor, Pledger, Cameron and Neal all give us good depth at the guard/wings positions.

That or a can't miss type talent in the backcourt. Will be hard to bring in a guard anyway, especially if they're a juco who wants to play right away.

McGee is not going to want to play behind guys his last two years. also abd, CU is bringing in Ryan Spangler out of Bridge creek in for a visit. This kid is like Bookout clone but more athletic. 6'7, strong, and can bully around the basket. averaged 26pts, 13rbs, and lead the state in blocks.
